. ? Perquimans District Court news - m ? . ? During the February 25 and March ' ? sessions of Perquimans County District Court, the following cases were heard: James Lee Pettaway pled guilty to assault on a female and received a 90 day sentence, suspended for two years, with unsupervised probation for two years. He was told to remain on good behavior for two years, not to assault his wife for two years, and to , pay a fine of ISO plus the cost of court. Robert Lee Thatch, Jr., pled guilty to driving under the influence. He received a 90 day suspended sen tence, with unsupervised probation for two years, a $125 fine plus the cost of court, was told to surrender his operators license to the court and not operate a motor vehicle on any North , Carolina highway for twelve months. ? Fred Jones Rountree pled not guilty to the charge of driving while his chauffeur'* license was revoked. A motion to dismiss was allowed upon conclusion of the state's evidence. Willie Garcia Felton, charged with assault and resisting a public officer, pled guilty to assault and not guilty to resisting. He 'was found guilty of both counts and was fined $10 plus the cost of court on the assault charge and was given a 90 day sentence, suspended for two years, with un supervised probation for two years, on the resisting charge. Felton was also fined $100 plus the cost of court, was told not to engsge in any criminal misconduct, and was told to remain on general good behavior. An appeal was noted. Henry L. Gibbs, pled guilty to speeding, 70 mph In a 55 mph zone, and *u fined $25 plus the coat of court. Randall Lee Mitchell pled guilty to apeeding, 63 mph in a 55 mph tone, and wai fined $25 plus the cost of court. Calvin Edward Bundy, charged with speeding, 80 mph In a 55 mph zone, pled guilty to speeding, 75 mph in a 55 mph cone. He was given a 10 day sentence, suspended for one year, a $40 fine plus the cost of court, waa told to surrender his operators license to the clerk of superior court and not operate a motor vehicle in North Carolina until he has a valid license. Darla Crayton Matthews, charged with a stop sign violation, was given a prayer for judgment upon payment of cost of court. Craig Jordan, charged with lar ceny in general, pled guilty to misdemeanor larceny and received a 60 day sentence, suspended (or one year, a >50 fine plus the cost of court and was told not to go on the premises of Winfall Mini Mart for one year. Clyde Leary, charged with larceny In general, pled guilty to misdemeanor larceny and was given a 30 day sentence, suspended for one year, a $50 fine plus the cost of court, was told to pay 78 cents in restitution to S&R of Hertford, and was told not to go the premises of S&R for twelve months. Peter Juvelis, Jr. charged with speeding, 67 mph in a 55 mph zone, pled guilty to exceeding the safe speed and was fined the cost of court. Lucky Cartwright waived his right to a first appearance hearing on charges of trafficing cocaine and possession with intent to manufac ture, sell or deliver cocaine. A probable cause hearing was set for Wiley Frank Wood on the charge of trafficing cocaine. Charlotte Brinson, charged with simple assault and assault and battery, pled guilty to simple assault. She was sentenced to 20 days, suspended for one year, was fined $25 plus the cost of court, and was told to pay $25 restitution to Dianne Over ton. An appeal was noted. Ricky J. Dail, charged with driving under the influence, received a 60 day sentence, suspended for one year, a $100 fine plus the cost of court, was told not to operate a motor vehicle in North Carolina for twelve months. A copy of his judgment was to be sent to the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles. Charlie Rufus Spellman, charged with possession of stolen goods, received a 90 day sentence, suspended for two years, a $100 fine plus the cost of court, was told to violate no law relating to larceny or stolen property for one year. Raiford Carlston Spoon, pled not guilty to speeding, 67 mph in a 55 mph zone, but was found guilty of speeding, 61 mph in a 55 mph zone, and was fined $10 plus the cost of court. No cause was found in the charge of larceny in general against Ruth Francis Cowell.
