Through the Adopt-A-Sehool effort, over 2,000 adopters adopted one thousand schools. These adopters were parenta, buaineaaea, churches, and other organizations. Their asaistance resulted not only In in creased services , but in donations of aupplies, equipment, and other ' needed items. The involvement of volunteera has reautled in an increase of 25 percent in the number of persons giving their time to work with students, and the number of hours they have donated has increased 20 percent over the past three years.
