Repeat this application at a T-tt day lateral untfl the color of the water prevents the sight of a white object held 12 to 11 inches below the surface. Liming la also required. It la ooe of the most overlooked parts of a good pood management program. Water ph's from7.0 to 0.0 are best suited for fish. Most of our dug poods are too acidic for good fish production. Lime should be spplied at a rate of at least one too per acre per year or until correct ph levels are resched. Fishery biologists say the biggest problem with farm poada la that they are under-fished. Ponds can easily become overstocked with smsll bvream if these fish are not removed. Fishing them out is the best way to do this. The bass however, should not be removed until after about a years growth. A Atom around pood* should not he left bare. Spoil dirt from dug pan* should be spread and seeded to grass. This material is acidic tad requires liming. It should not be allowed to wash back into the pond, where it J make the water acidic Grassed areas around edge also act as filtering i addition, it makes the attractive. Many people will be around 1 ponds when warn wet Safety cannot be over emj There should be some type saving devices Incited around Oft pond. Long poles or flotation dtviA should be available to reach aomedjf who gets into the water. Most pond owners discourage swimming, because someone can accidentally feu in. Dug ponds are usually very Ponds should be s source of en joyment to their owners and proper management they can be JusT that. Perquimans County Tax Listings Continued from page 9 Sloboda. Marion F?
