Area obituaries Mn. Mary Lizzie Chappell Win dow. IS, o t Route I. Belvidere, died Monday morning at her home. A native ot Perquimans County, aha waa the daughter of the late Elihu J. and Miaaouri Copeland ChappeU and the widow of Jeaae Thomas Winalow. She waa a member of the Sandy Croaa Baptist Church. Surviving are live da ughteri, Mrs. Herbert (Jesaie Mae) Williams and Miaa Clarine Winalow of Route 1, Belvidere, Mrs. Edmood (Delate) White ot Rt. 1. Hobbsvill,, Mn. Paul (Millie) Eder of Homeatead. Fla., and Mrs. Dorua (Blannie) Cope land o t Rt 1, Tyner; one sister, Mrs. Lucy Ward of Rt. 1, Tyner; 13 grand children and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Swindell Funeral Home. Hertford, with the Rev. Bobby Hewitt of ficiating. Burial was in the family cemetery. BOYCE David Ernest Boyce, 63, of Rt. 3, died suddenly Sunday at his home. A native of Chowan County, he was the aoo of the late Vandy and Rom Byrum Boyce, and the husband o I Mra. Eunice Chappell Boyce and waa a Protestant. He waa retired from the U.S. Navy aa a Chief Machinists' Mate after 22 years at service, and from the Norfolk Navy yard after IS years of service. He was employed by the Holiday Inn in Elisabeth City. Besides his wife, surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Connie B. Copeland of Rt. 1, Eden ton; three sons, David E. Boyce, Jr. of Folkston, Ga., Ricky B. Boyce of Eden ton, and Reggie T. Boyce of Cary, N.C. He had five sisters, Mrs. Roxie Daniels of Colerain, Mrs. Marie Matthews of Winfall, Mrs. Edna Byrum of Tyner and Mrs. Naomi Bunch of Rt. 1, Edenton; two brothers, Wiliford Boyce of Roanoke Rapids and Robert Boyce of Belleville, 111.; and si: grand children. Full military rites were accorded at the graveside in Cedarwood Cemetery on Tuesday at 2 p.m. by the U.S. Naval Air Station in Norfolk. Swindell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Evans of the Bureau's new offices on Church Street Extended in Hertford. The office officially opened on Tuesday, April 5 after the staff tackled the job of moving on April 4. A reception will be held this Sun day at the new office, giving county residents a chance to tour the new site. Although the Hertford office handles only insurance, the Farm Bureau has lobbyists on the state and local level whose job is to push for legislation beneficial to the farm community. Concert MURPHY Mrs. Linda Lee Thurmond Mur phy. 75. of Route 1, Hertford, died Friday afternoon after a lengthy ?mm. A native at Jackaon, Miss., the waa the wife of Edward Leroy Murphy and a member of the Bethel Baptist Church. Besides her husband, survivors Include two daughters, Mrs. Martha Ann McGohon and Mrs. Lorraine Lamb, both of Rt 1; a sister, Mrs. Catherine Vanetten of Jackaon, Miss.; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Swindell Funeral Home by the Rev. Charles Middleton. Burial followed in the Bethel Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mike Rucker, Danny Harrell, Marq Gray, R.S. Chappell, E.J. Proctor and Willis Proctor. BRABBLE Mrs. Madge Long Brabble, 60, of Route 1, Hertford, died last Wed nesday afternoon in Chowan Hospital. A native of Perquimans County, she was the daughter of the late Sidney Lae.aad Mrs. Sallle Willi* mi Long and the wife of WUma V. Brabble. She waa a retired manager of the Perquimans County High School lunchroom and waa a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Beside* her hushand, she is sur veyed by a daughter, Mrs. Varina B. Hollowell of Route 1, Hertford; a son, Lee Brabble of Route 1, Hertford, a sister, Mrs. J Jl. Twiddy ot Route 2, Eden too; Ave brothers, Seth Long of Route 2, Hertford. E.W. "Dick" Long and Howard Long, both of Hertford; Ambrose Long of Route 2, Edenton and Freeman Long of Route 1, Hertford; and one grandchild. Funeral services were held last Friday at 2 p.m. in tht Chapel of Swindell Funeral Home by the Rev. Gordon Shaw. Burial followed in Cedarwood Cemetery. Volunteer nominees to be honored here Hertford Mayor Bill Cox an nounced Friday that the Perquimans County nominees for the Governor's 1983 Statewide Volunteer Awards would be honored with a reception at Missing Mill Park, on Sunday, June 26 at two o'clock.
