Youth soccer games provide entertainment YOUTH SOCCER - On Saturday, October 22, we had two exciting games at Central Grammar School. In the first contest between the Nuggets and the Devils, the Nuggets, REC HAPPENINGS h Howard Williams P*iqoi??KM?fc Co Poikt ( Iikhw'ioii Ck'w*oi led by Ryan and Reid Reeve, ex ploded to a 4-0 first half lead. . In the second half the Devils tied the socre with two minutes remaining. The Nuggets looked as It they were going to score again, but time ran out. ? In the other game the Bucks and Royals played to a 2-2 tie. The Royals looked as if they were going to extend their 2-0 lead at half time, but the Bucks fought back hard to tie it at 2-2 with four minutes remaining. The standings are: Royals 2-0-2 Devils 2-0-2 Bucks 1-2-1 Nuggets 0-3-1 This Saturday at 10 a.m. the Bucks vs. Nuggets and at 11 we have Royals vs. Devils. MIDGET FOOTBALL - On Monday, October 17, Community Gaa/Ann'a Beauty Salon defeated the Edenton Redskins 57-51 In an exciting high scoring contest. Community Gaa/Ann'a Beauty Salon built a 27-6 first quarter lead which the Redskins could never overcome. Cetric Felton scored six touch downs while Oscar Wells added a touchdown for the winners. After losing their first two games, Com munity Gas/Ann's Beauty Salon has won their last two games to boost their record 2-2. With only one regular season game remaining Community Gas/Ann's Beauty Salon look as if they are peaking at the right time to enter the tournament. Overman's Insurance Agencies played hard but came up short again. ?1-3# against Edenton Flatter Nut The gam* was cloee, by a icore of 47 3>, until with just two minutei remaining Fisher Nut exploded with two touchdowns to make it 61-39. Overman's had fought back from a 32-6 first half deficit to move within a touchdown at the start of the fourth quarter. But with first and goal at the six-yard-line Mark Stanton threw an interception in the encUone. Over man's dropped to 1-3 for the season. On Monday night. October 24, Overman's played the Edenton Eagles and Community Gas/Ann's Beatury Salon played the Edenton Cowboys in Edenton. The tour nament starts new week in Edenton.
