Party schedules regional hearings The North Carolina Democratic Party will take the first step in drafting its 1984 platform when it holds regional hearings on Tuesday, April 24, at 8:00 p.m. These six regional hearings will allow Democrats from throughout the state to offer their suggestions and ideas about the positions and the direction the Party should take on a wide range of issues. North Carolina Democratic Party Chairman, David Price, called the platform "a statement of the Party's guiding principles and values. School ( Continued from pagt 1) 1 purchasing equipment, meeting with fund raisers, meeting with salesmen and others. Telephone contact in the county. North Carolina and Virginia, necessitates a telephone hookup in the band director's office. These improvements would allow the band director to give more time for extra help to students. In the five and one-half years our band has been performing, our students and teachers have produced an award-winning program; our band is respected all over eastern North Carolina as well as in Virginia. It is a credit not only to Our schools. but also to our county. The high school band has grown from IS members in ltTS to nearly 100 today. With two other schools, this number is a large percentage of our school students. Even with this success, our students and teacher wish to improve and are only lacking in facilities. Without facilities, limits are put on them and prove to be discouraging to both students and teacher. Discouragement produces a lack of motivation; a lack of motivation produces failure. Vote YES for new school facilities on May 8th. fbKlN CARE whV j ii it I Homelhing you buy . It's something you learn. Mary Kay Cosmetics Call for a complimentary facial.
