The bride, given in marriage by her parents, wore a satin gown with a sweetheart neck and a mandrain collared lace overlaid bodice. The peplumed bodice overlaid the skirt that extended into a chapel length /vitmmMmmi scalloped Venician lace. The same motif of scalloped lace was used for the tail and train of the dress. A satin circlet encrusted with pearls was used to attach a veil of illusion edged with the same Venician lace as used on the dress. Maid of honor was Ruth H. Blades of Elizabeth City. Matron of Honor was Cindy S. Lyons of Hertford. Bridesmaids were Shannon M. Elliott of Elizabeth City, sister-in-law of the bride; Deborah R. Holland of Elizabeth City, sister of the groom; and Sheila F. Rountree of Hertford, sister of the groom. Eugene Rountree Sr. of Hertford served as his son's best man.
