Runyon, ot Church Street in Hertford, has been cast in a major acting role in the Elizabeth City State University production of the acclaimed romantic comedy "Picnic." Runyon will portray the character of Bomber in the play which will run for three performances, March 6, 7, and 9, at 8:15 p.m. in the Kermit White Graduate Center on the ECSU campus in Elizabeth City. Runyon, a 1984 graduate of Perquimans County High School, appeared last fall in the Players' "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest." He is a freshman at ECSU and majors in education. In addition to his acting assignment, Runyon is also serving as property master for "Picnic." General admission for the ECSU production of "Picnic" is $1.50 at the door. Stoltz, vice chancellor for academic affairs at WCU. Among those named to the dean's liit is Diane R. Lanning of ^03 Crescent Drive, Hertford Dowd attends educational conference in Greenville Marion Byrd, Brenda Dail, and Linda Dowd from Perquimans High School attended the Atlantic Coast Business and Distributive Education conference at the Sheraton Inn in Greenville, N. C. on February 22-23, 1985. The conference is sponsored annually by the Business Education and Administrative Services department of the Evans awarded scholastic scholarship David Lewis Evans, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis B. Evans of Hertford, has received a Bryan Campbell Scholarship from Campbell University in the amount of $1,000 for four years. While attending John A. Holmes High School, Evans was involved in band, french club, drama club and quiz bowl. He is a member of the Hertford Baptist Church and the church choir, Campbell University is located south of Raleigh, the capital of North Carolina, in the community of Buies Creek. In addition to a full liberal arts program, the university offers graduate degrees in business, education and government. School of Technology, East Carolina University, and is designed to provide insights on improving the instruction and learning of students for and about business. The conference program was developed around the theme "Strategies for Excellence in Business and Distributive Education."
