Scholarship given CAR Y? Jane Evans Gower, a mathematics teacher at Cary High School, was one o i two . scholarship recipients that were awarded recently at the "Pieces of Gold" banquet The schol arship, one at nine awarded in the Wake County System, is 'worth 11,600 over the next five years. '' Mrs. Gower has been at Cary High School for eight years. She has taught for 11 years, also teaching at Carnage Middle School in Raleigh. She earned her bachelor of * science degree magna cum laude in mathematics education at N.C. State University in 1973, and went on to earn her mas ter's degree in math education in 1978. She also makes a point to at tend school events, including the plays and sport activities. She is married to Emerson Gower, the Cary manager with Carolina Power and Light Co. They have two children, Ashley, S, and Emerson III, 2. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Evans of Route 1, Hertford.
