Community Privott-Hurdle united *?; HURDLE-PRIVOTT , On September 21, Jana Lynn Pri vott and T.W. Hurdle were married at Woodville Baptist Church by the Rev. Kendall Hastings. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Danny Frivott and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Ball and Mabel Privott, all of Hert ford. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. E.L. Hurdle of Belvidere. Escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents the bride wore a chapel length gown of angel skin satin with a high crown collar and long pouff juliet sleeves. The bodice was trimmed with pearls and re-em brodied Alencon and Venice lace. Her tear-drop veil of illusion, accented with lace flowers and seed pearls was designed and custom made by her mother. Matron of honor was Mrs. Janet B. Bell of Stone Mt., Georgia, aunt of the bride. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Sheila B. Perry, Edenton, Karen and Rosa Piece, Hobbsville, Gwendolyn Perry and Pam Lamb, Hertford. Mr. E.L. Hurdle was best man for his son. James R. Cooper, if The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Harrison of Shiloh. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George T. Roach of Hertford. * ? Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a gown of organza fashioned with a Queen Ann neckline enhanced with crystal pleating. The fitted bodice and sheet sleeves were appliqued with silk venise lace. Her attached chapel length veil of illusion ^ arranged from a camelot cap. - " Matron of honor was Ms. Beth Hildrebrand of Shiloh. Bridesmaids were Ms. Pam Harrison of Shiloh, sister of the bride, and Mrs. Sonya Winslow of Belvidere. Best man was Mr. George T. Roach of Hertford, father of the groom. Ushers were Mr. Tommy Ma son of Shiloh, and Mr. Scottie Winslow of Belvidere. Mrs. Millicent Owns of Elizabeth City, Aunt of the bride was the solist. Mrs. Ann Williams of Elizabeth City was pianist. Aunts of the bride, were mistresses of ceremony. A reception was held at the V.F.W. Post 6060 in Elizabeth City. After a wedding trip to South Carolina, the couple will make there home in Hert ford. Enjoy a tasty pudding, or try these stuffed sweet potatoes as a nice accompaniment for roast pork. TIPSY SWEET POTATO PUDDING 2 eggs :l-4 cup sugar 2 cups raw sweet potatoes, grated (about 2 potatoes) 12-ounce can evaporated milk cup milk Vi teaspoon ground cinnamon 1 2 teaspoon ground nutr 2g '-2 teaspoon salt 1 cup shredded sweetened coconut 4 tablespoons butter, melted 2 tablespoons Jack Daniel's whiskey Whipped cream as garnish Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Gen erously butter a IVi quart casserole dish. Vigorously beat eggs and sugar to gether in large bowl. Stir in all re maining ingredients except whipped cream. Pour into prepared casserole dish and bake 1 hour, until barely firm Sferve tepid, garnished with whipped cream. Serves 6 to 8. STUFFED SWEET POTATOES COCK'S mm\ e>y EDNA WOIVERTOM 6 medium sweet potatoes vegetable oil 1 teaspoon salt 3 tablespoon butter-softened 6 oz. orange juice concentrate, undi luted 1 can crushed pineapple, drained '/2 cup chopped pecans 12 large marshmallows Wash potatoes and rub with vege table oil. Bake at 400 degrees for 1 hour or until done. Split potatoes in half lengthwise. Carefully scoop out pulp, leaving shells in tact.
