You may have a little something extra coming to you, depending on your county of resi dence. According to the Internal Revenue Service, North Carolina Taxpayers may be able to deduct an amount in addition to the sales tax tables pub lished in the Federal income tax in structions. First of all, the tables have been revised to reflect 1966 costs of living and offer larger deduc tions. But in addition, the 1% percent local sales taxes which have been adopted by various counties in the last several months mean even larger deductions. Since the sales tax tables were printed before many of the local sales taxes took effect, the footnote for North Carolina (number 11) should be ignored. - ?Taxpayers residing in the following counties and itemizing their deduc tions should compute the amount on the sales tax table and then adjust it by the following percentage. For example Perquimans, Add 4 ? percent, Pasquotank, add 4 percent and Chowan, add 4 percent. Tax returns filed for 1966 will be the last on which any sales taxes can be claimed. So be sure you claim the full amount to which you are entitled. 1 Service news ELLIOTT Pvt. Henry C. Elliott, Jr., son of Henry C. and Ellen F.
