, Of local interest Perquimans Area obituaries MARSHALL J. WHITE Marshall, Jethro White, 70, of Route X, Box 504, Hertford, N.C., died Tuesday afternoon, July 14, 1987, in his home. A native of Pasquotank County he was the son of the late Charlie T. and Mary White Hall and the husband of Mrs. Marjorie Phillips White. He was retired stock clerk with Weyerhauser Co. and served in the Navy during World War II. Besides his wife, survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Tim (Marsha) Knerr of Chesapeake, Va. and Mrs. Kent (Wanda) Ellen of Portsmouth, Va.; four half-brothers, Howard T. Hall, Donald Hall and C.T. Hall, Jr., all of Virginia Beach, Va. and Wil lard Hall of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and one granddaughter, Priscilla Knerr of Chesapeake, Va. The body was donated to science. Memorial services were held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. George Wilmore officiating. Swindell Fune ral Home, Hertford was in charge of arrangements. Stallings Funeral Home, Hertford handled the arrange ments. HENRY PERRY Henry Perry, 48, died June 18, 1987 in Brooklyn, N.Y. A native of Hert ford North Carolina he was the son of the late Ray and Virgie Perry. He was reared in a Christian home and was a member of Hunter's Chapel Church in his early years. He came to New York in the 60's and remained there until his death Survivors include one brother, Mr George Perry of Brooklyn, New York; one aunt, Mrs. Mary Holley of Hertford, North Carolina ; two un cles, Mr. Isaac Sutton of Washington, D.C. and Mr. Leroy Sutton of Brook lyn, New York; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Emma Perry, and a host of cousins and friends. OCTAVIOUS C. LONG. JR. EDENTON, NC-Octavious Coke "O.C." Long, Jr., 70, of Route 1, a re tired manager, died July 18, 1987, in a hospital. Mr. Long, a native of Perquimans County, N.C., retired from Leary Brothers Storage. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member and deacon of Rocky Hock Baptist Church. He was a member of Gideon International and the Rocky Hock Ruritan Club. Survivors include his wife, Mary L eary Long; a daughter, Deborah Long of Edenton; two sons, Danny Long and Phil Long, both of Edenton ; and a grandchild. The funeral was conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Rocky Hock Baptist Church, Edenton, by the Revs. Don ald Wagner and Tony Moore. He was a retired farmer and businessman and attended the Christ Sanctified Holy Church. Besides his wife survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Janet) Forehand of Hobbsville; a sister, Mrs. Laura Belle Chappell of Belvi dere; 1 grandchild and 1 great-grand child. A native of Hampton, Va. he was the son of Charlie and Sherron Daughtery Hobbs and a rising Junior at Gates County High School. He was a member of Warick Baptist Church and a member of its Royal Ambassa dors. Besides his parents survivors in- ^ elude three sisters, Mrs. Patrick (Sherry) King of Hobbsville, Miss Brenda May Hobbs and Miss Linda Kay Hobbs, both of the home; his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Hazel Daughtrey of Richmond, Va. ; 1 niece and 1 nephew.
