Tinting does a lot more than enhance the color of your'' eyes. From o practical standpoint it makes them easier to retrieve when dropped, easier to locate when discentered, and reduces the light sensi tivity and glare that may occur with clear hard-lens wearing. i ; However, because of special considerations, tinted soft lenses were' , not available in this country until 1981. A special tinting process had to be developed and tested which was absolutely safe, reliable, and cos metically perfect. Tinted soft contacts have a clear border and clear cen ter so that the lens appears normal on the eye and corresponds to the. ' pupil. The remoining "iris" area is then tinted, using a special process i : that permanently bonds the color to the lens. The color is safe, will not bleach out, and holds up under either chemical or heat sterilization. So . now all contact lens wearers can enjoy the advantages of tinted con tacts. Dr. A.F.
