I lay very still, and nothing was said. I broke all my toys, every last one. This day after Christmas 1 wasn’t having much fun. I wore out all my new socks with holes in the toe. And my new walking doll, didn't even go. My stockings fell off the mantle, and my games fell to pieces. All I could save were a couple of reeses. It was such a horrid Christmas, but I guess that’s what I get, for throwing my soda and getting mom all wet. Marcy Walker wrote - Twas the night after Christmas when all through the house, everyone was asleep except a little mouse. He was crying and balling for he had gotten no toys, but he didn’t understand he had lots of Christmas joys. He have laughed and played and sang Christmas carols, he had even sent the poor mice food in barrels. He just didn’t know why Santa ■ Claus didn’t come to see him, when all a sudden outside a light was very dim. The mouse jumped up from his bed, then he knew there was nothing to dread. It was his mom driving home from the store, and when she opened the door, toys came flowing out then more and more. He ran to his mom as she wiped his tears, then they went inside and he had no more fears.
