The Hertford Fire Department la sponsoring a barbecued
chicken supper on Saturday. March 6 from 4-7 p.m., eat In or take

The Perquimans Recreation Department/Senior Center Is spon
soring a trip to the Wells Theatre to see the performance, "Pump
Boys and Dinettes" on Thursday. March 11. The bus will leave the
Center at 4 p.m. with a stop far dinner at the Piccadilly at Military
Circle before the 8 pm. performance. Cost per person is $10 which
Includes transportation and ticket. Deadline for registration and pay
ment Is Thursday. March 4. Reserve your seat now by calling the
Center at 426-5404. This trip is supported by a grant from the
Grassroots Arts Program of the NC Arts Council, a state agency.

Perquimans County Democrats have scheduled their annual
precinct meetings on March 4 at the regular polling places at 8:00
p.m. At precinct meetings Democrats will elect delegates to the April
17 County Convention and elect officers for the precinct All regis
tered Democrats may attend these meetings.
Skeet shoot posted
There will be a Skeet Shoot on Feb. 27 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at
> the shooting range beside the county softball fields in Wlnfall. Tro
phies will be awarded. The cost is $10 per round, fumlsh ytour own
shells. Concessions will be available. Proceeds will benefit the Per
quimans County hunter safety teams.
Hospice training to start
PPCC Hospice Volunteer Training will begin on Tuesday, March
16 and continue on March 18. 23, 25. and 30 from 7-10 p.m. each
night. The training will be held at the Pasquotank County Health De
partment in Elizabeth City on the comer of Cedar and Harney
streets. Hospice training is provided free to the public.

PPCC Hospice is a service of the PPCC District Health Depart
ment and a trained group of community volunteers. Hospice strives
to meet the physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of the
family and patient facing a terminal illness. The aim is to control the
patient’s pain as much as possible, make him/her comfortable and
support the family.
Health clinics scheduled
The Perquimans Health Department has the following clinics
scheduled for February 25-March 3:
Feb. 26 - General p.m., teen a.m.; and family planning follow
up p.m.
Nutrition site menus posted
Nutrition program for the elderly menus for March 1-5 are:
- Monday: Hot dog/roli; baked beans, coleslaw, apple, milk.
Tuesday: Vegetable soup, pimento cheese sandwich, carrot/rai
sin salad, crackers, chockcolate chip cookie, milk.
Wednesday: Oven fried chicken, field peas with snaps, yellow
squash, roll, yellow cake with chocolate icing, milk.
Thursday: Sliced ham with pineapple chunks, steamed cab
bage. boiled potatoes.combread, cold sliced peaches, milk.
Friday: tuna salad with 1/2 boiled egg, macaroni salad, straw
berry jell o with fruit, crackers, oatmeal cookie and milk.
