(Photo courtesy COA) Winslow is Teacher of Month Sharon Basnight Winslow, a resource teacher at Weeksvllle Elementary School, was selected by the Elizabeth City Junior Woman’s Club as January’s Edu cator of the Month. Winslow has been employed with the Elizabeth Clty-Pasquo tank School System for more than five years. She works with learning disabled and educable mentally handicapped students. Winslow is a member of the Elizabeth City Pentecostal Holi ness Church, where she also tea ches seventh- and eighth-grade Sunday, school classes. She also Is a member of the North Caro Una Association of Education and reading organizations. A resident of Hertford, she is the wife of Gary Winslow. They have a 4-year-old, Dus tin. Her father is a former tea cher. coach, and principal in Camden and was a definite in fluence on her decision to teach. Winslow Attended East Carolina University for two years and la|er graduated from Elizabeth City State Uni versity.
