School senior earned top honors
af the James B. Hunt young Citi
zen Awards ceremony at Wake
Farest University last month.

$5,000 scholarship to be used at

aens received scholarships, one
of $2,000 and one of $3,000.

She presently works part-time.
Jodi is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Donald Gustafson of
Hertford and Anthony Abbate of
Jamestown, N.Y. Her grand
mother is Beatrice Kreckel of
Hertford.
Jodi plans to further her ed
ucation at Meredith College in
Raleigh.

They attended skill-building
workshops and grade level inter
est meetings which covered a
range of topics, including family
dynamics, nulticultural aware
ness, career guidance, devel
opmental program planning, and
legal and ethical issues.
The conference theme was
“Councelors: Lighting the Way to
the Future.” Featured speakers
included Jack Canfield. Dr. Fred
Krieg, State Superintendent Bob
Etheridge and Ms. Arden Mar
tenz.

There is a live Christmas tree on the front lawn of (he hospital,
with hundreds of lights and topped with a star, that will be lit on
Wednesday, December 1st at 5:30 P.M.
