Tuesday - Chicken, butter beans, carrots, roll, pears, milk. Wednesday - Beef stew, peas, bread, cookie, juice, milk, Thursday - Chicken fillet sandwich, tomatoes, turnip greens, cookies, milk. Friday - Spaghetti, corn, juice, bread, applesauce, milk. Health clinics The clinic schedule for the Perquimans Health Department from July 17-21 is as follows: July 17 - Prenatal clinic in the morning, followed with family planning in the afternoon. July 18 - COLPO in the afternoon. July 19 - Child health in the morning. Dr. Slade in the afternoon. July 20 - Adult health clinic will be held all day. July 21 - General health clinic will be held in the afternoon, WIC program will be held all day. A family affair District 69 of the State Employees Association of North Carolina will sponsor a family affair including a pig pickin’, games, music and dancing on Saturday, July 22, 5-9 p.m., at the K.E. Basketball practice The Perquimans County High School gym will be open for practice for girls planning to try out for the 1995-96 Lady Pirates basketball team each Wednesday through Aug. 23 from 6-8 p.m. Lady Pirates coach Tanya Turner will supervise the athletes. The gym will be closed to all others during the sessions. Hobbs-Braden Jenny Rebecca Braden and William Ernest “Ernie” Hobbs, both of Winston-Salem, were married at 2 p.m. on June 3 in Ardmore United Methodist Church. The Rev. R. Stuart Stagner officiated. The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Greg Brgden of Winston-Salem. She is the granddaughter of Joyce Cox and Jerry and Regina Braden, all of Biloxi, Miss. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Hobbs of Hertford. He is the grandson of Grace Ange of Kinston and Wallace and Joyce Hobbs of Hertford. The bride was escorted by her father. Maid of honor was Sarah Braden of Winston-Salem, sis ter of the bride. Bridesmaids were Sarah Poole of Salisbury, Angie Collins, of Winston- Salem, Abbie Young of Mocksville, Ebea McCrary of Elkin, and Amanda King of Carvondale, Ill. Junior brides maid was Amy Braden of Winston-Salem, sister of the bride. The groom’s father served as best man. Ushers were Stuart Rayburn of Virginia Beach, Va.; Calvin Hobbs of Arlington, Va., brother of the groom; Matt Hobbs of Hertford, brother of the groom; Neil Clough of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; and Chris Hudson of Raleigh. Junior usher was Will Skinner of Matthews, cousin of the groom. Ring bearer was Drew Braden of Winston-Salem, brother of the bride. Flower girl was Elizabeth Skinner of Matthews, cousin of the groom. Wedding director was Phyllis Evans of Winston- Salem. Music was provided by the Fred Pivetta Trio. A reception was held at The Magnolia Room on the campus of Wake Forest University. The couple honeymooned in Warm Springs and Richmond, Va. Mrs. Hobbs is a graduate of * Mrs. William Ernest Hobbs Mt. Tabor High School and is a student at Wake Forest University. She is a physical therapy technician at Rehability Center in Winston- Salem. Mr. Hobbs is a gradu ate of Perquimans County High School and Wake Forest University, and is a certified athletic trainer for Murphy- Wainer Orthopedic Specialists in Greensboro. Engagements Democratic party breakfast Pureza-Bridgers The Perquimans County Democratic Party Executive Committee will sponsor a pancake breakfast on July 15 from 7-11 a.m. at the Senior Citizens Building. Tickets are $4 and may be obtained by contacting Deborah S. Reed at 426-8392. Memory Lane The Memory Lane Senior Citizens Club will hold their regu lar monthly meeting on Monday, July 17, at 2 p.m. at the Senior Center. Best Ball tournament A Best Ball Tournament for residents of Perquimans County only will be held at Sound Golf Links, Albemarle Plantation, on July 19. The $25 entry fee includes green fees, cart, food and prizes, and must be paid at the Recreation Department by July 17 at 1 p.m. Trophies will be awarded for longest drive, closest to the pin, most 8s, most garish attire and lowest score. Yard sale There will be a yard sale on Saturday, July 15, 8 a.m.-noon, at 200 Church St., Hertford to benefit the Perquimans Hunter Safety Team. The team will compete in the National Hunter Education Challenge sponsored by the NRA in Lynchburg, Va. this month. Bikes, toys, clothes, housewares and more will be for sale. Dinner theatre Angler’s Cove Dinner Theatre will host the Garry Marshall and Lowell Janz comic drama, “Wrong Turn at Lungfish,” on July 21, 22,23, 28 and 30 and August 4,5, and 6. On Fridays and Saturdays, the buffet dinner is served at 6:30. The play begins at 8. On Sundays, the buffet is served at 5:30 with a 7 p.m. curtain time. Tickets are $17.50.
