You may eat in or take out. Cost per ticket is $4 which will go to benefit members participating in the N.C. Senior Games in Raleigh. Senior center The Perquimans County Senior Center has a trip planned to go see “Oklahoma” on Saturday, Oct. 7. We will depart the Center at 12 p.m. to attend the 2 p.m. matinee. This is a produc tion by the Commonwealth Musical Stage performed at the Pavilion Theatre in Virginia Beach. Cost per person is $2. Deadline to sign up and pay is Friday, Sept. 22. State fair The Recreation Department and Senior Center has a trip planned to attend the State Fair in Raleigh on Thursday, Oct. 19. We will depart the Center at 9 a.m., stop for lunch and then go on to the fair. We will stay for the music entertainment at 7 p.m. Eddie Rabbit is scheduled to appear. This is open to all ages. Cost per person is $15. Deadline to sign up and pay is Oct. 6 or imtil full. Museum preschool program The Museum of the Albemarle will offer the preschool pro gram “The First Day of School” on Friday, Sept. 8 at 10 a.m. at the museum. Children will participate in school activities typi cal for the colonial period and will handcraft an item to carry home. The preschool program, for children 3-4 years old, is free and open to the public. Reservations are required due to limited space at the museum. Health clinics The clinic schedule for the Perquimans Health Department from Sept. 11-15 is as follows: Sept. -12 - Prenatal clinic will be in the morning. Sept. 13 - Child health clinic all day. Sept. 15 - General clinic will be held in the afternoon, WIC pro gram will be held all day. Fun run/walk The Fourth Annual Indian Summer Festival/Chowan Hospital Fun Run/Walk will be held Saturday, Sept. 23. Events are the 1 and 3 mile runs and a 2-mile walk. Registration and starting point is on Jimmy Hunter Drive beside Perquimans County High School. Registration begins a 7:30 a.m. with races starting at 8 a.m. Entry fee is $4 which includes a T-shirt. Refreshments, handouts and prizes will be given. To register, call Chowan Hospital Public Relations Department at 482-6283. Birthday calendars Perquimans County band students at the high and middle schools are selling community birthday calendars. Calendars are $4 each. Listings - birthdays, anniversaries, meetings, memorials - are 50 cents each. Order from any band student. Interagency Council The Perquimans County Interagency council will meet on Thursday, Sept. 14 at 7:30 a.m. at the Perquimans County Schools Administrative Building. Pesticide containers Perquimans, Chowan, Gates (PCG) Solid Waste Management on Perrys Bridge Road in Belvidere will be accepting pesticide containers from all producers, Monday - Fridays, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. on a year-round basis. These containers must be properly rinsed, with booklets and lids removed. For more information, please ask your Cooperative Extension Agent or call the PCG office at 297-3300. White-Chesson Karen Lynne Chesson of Hertford and Raleigh Leroy White Jr. of Hobbsville were married at 3 p.m. on Aug. 19 at Hertford Baptist Church. The Rev. Keith Vaughan officiated. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Luther Chesson of Hertford. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Tulley Langley of Hertford and Mr. and Mrs. R. Leroy White Sr. of Hobbsville. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a formal satin gown featuring a Queen Ann neckline, basque waist line with fitted bodice, and open heart back adorned with strands of pearls and lace trim with pearls and sequins. The full skirt extended to a semi cathedral length train. The fin gertip veil fell from a head- band of rhinestones, simulated pearls and clear sequins. She carried a silk cascade of assorted white flowers and greenery. Jonie Bundy of Hertford was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Elizabeth Davis of Hertford, cousin of the bride, and Nicole Hunter of Hertford. The attendants wore primrose tea length satin dresses. Flower girl was Brittany Perry of Hertford, cousin of the groom. Mr. White served as his son's best man. Ushers were Dean White of Ahoskie, broth er of the groom; T. J. Langley of Hertford, brother of the groom; and Gray Chesson of Wilmington, brother of the bride. Mistresses of ceremonies were Ann Jordan of Tyner and Mary Alice Davis of Hertford, ...•A Mrs. Raleigh Leroy White Jr. aunts of the bride. Registrar was Amy Franklin of Wilmington. Wedding music was provid ed by Kay Whitley, and Mrs. Joe (Joyce) Perry and Mrs. Curtis (Joyce) Perry, aunts of the groom. A reception followed the ceremony in the church fel lowship hall. Lynnette Boyce of Elizabeth City was recep tion coordinator. The couple honeymooned on the Outer’ Banks. The bride is a graduate of Perquimans High School and is attending College of The Albemarle. The groom is a graduate of Gates County High School and is employed at Union Camp, Franklin, Va. Museum raffles Dresden quilt The Museum of the Albemarle Inc. is holding a raf fle of a beautiful Fancy Dresden Plate queen size quilt made by the Quilt Lover’s Guild of Elizabeth City. The quilt, made in shades of blue, rose and violet, is on display at the Museum of the Albemarle. Tickets are $1 each, with all proceeds from the raffle to ben efit the Museum of the Albemarle Inc. and its ongoing programs. Tickets for the Oct. 2 drawing can be purchased at the museum.
