We had a “green” contest for St. Patrick’s Day. Residents and employees competed to see who could wear the most green. Winning residents were Lorraine Twine, first place and $5; Marjorie Chappell, sec ond place, and Mildred Walker, third place. Employee winners were Ann Felton, first place and a gift certificate to Golden Corrall; Carita Hall, second place; and Shirley Smith, third place. Also in March, the residents have started a flower garden that is now starting to peek through the soil. Plans are now for cherry tomatoes and strawberries. Sounds good to me! On March 16 we had a very special treat from Albemarle Taekwondo. This group of young men and women dazzled us with extraordinary demon strations of skill, strength and showmanship. They broke boards with their bare feet and hands and displayed a great deal of respect for their instructor.
