A Christmas message
Light a Candle
When the Christmas season passes.
With it’s mistletoe and pine.
Keep your candle in the window
So its guiding light will shine
Just as bright on each tomorrow
As it did on Christmas Day.
Keep within your heart the spirit
That is Christmas charity.
Christmas glitter soon grows tarnished,
But one candle in the night
Offers guidance to the wanderer
Looking for a beacon light.
It will shine in honest welcome
For the stranger who will see
Friendly welcome in a town that
Otherwise might lonely be.
So just put away your presents.
Take the trimmings from your tree.
But don’t lock away the spirit
That is Christmas charity.
Light a candle in your window.
Never let it fade away...
Keep it just as bright tomorrow
As it was on Christmas Day!
“Christmas charity,
Never let it fade away.
Keep it just as bright tomorrow \ .
As if was on Christmas Day.”
