Cake decorating made easy Cake decorating is like woodworking; you never mas ter it, but you can do a good job on the first try. Here is a table to show how much icing you need per cake. Size of pan - amount of icing to frost and decorate 8 " round 2 layer - 3-4 c 9” round 2 layer - 31/2-41/2 c 10” round 2 layer - 4-5 c 9”xl3 - 4-5 c. Help on icing There are many different kinds of icing. Buttercream icing is by far the most com monly used. Boiled icing (sometimes called foam-type icing) taste different and is harder to use. Royal icing is used for decorations a lot, because it gets very hard. You The Baking Penter .lohn Grosjeaii would not want to ice a cake with it.
