Tuesday - Turkey sandwich, marinated tomatoes, potato salad, bread, cookies, milk. Wednesday - Barbecue pork, coleslaw, juice, stewed pota toes, cake w/chocolate icing, milk. Thursday - Tuna, pasta, and fruit salad, crackers, angel food cake, milk. Friday - Salisbury steak w/gravy, peas, applesauce, mashed potatoes, rice pudding, milk. ♦♦♦ Recycling telephone books Telephone books and magazines may be recycled at the convenience centers in Perquimans, Chowan and Gates Counties. Please place the books and magazines into the recy cling bins in the newspaper trailers. ❖ Open Door hours T Op The Open Door food pantry will be open 10 a.m.-noon on Mondays only until further notice. Call the Open Door at 426- 7776 for information. ❖ ECSU Laboratory School The Elizabeth City State University Laboratory School is now accepting applications for the 1998-99 academic school year. The Laboratory School serves children between the ages of 3 nd 5 years old. The school’s program offers children an innovative educational program geared toward fostering the development of the total child. For more information, call 335-3374, Monday through Friday between the hours of 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. ❖ Star Trek fan club The newly formed Star Trek Fan Club will hold its monthly meeting Thursday, July 16 at the Perquimans County Library at 7 p.m. New members are welcome. For more information, call Lisa at 426-4621. / ❖ Pesticide container collections Rinsed pesticide containers will be collected for recycling by PCG Solid Waste Management at the convenience sites in Perquimans County at the following dates and times: Monday, July 13 8-10 a.m. - New Hope Site; and 1-3 p.m. - Hwy 17 South Site Wednesday, July 15 -8-10 a.m. - Hwy 17 North Site; and 1-3 p.m. - Center Hill Hwy Site For more information about this program please contact PCG Solid Waste Management at 297-3300. ❖ NAACP The Perquimans County NAACP Branch will hold its monthly meeting on July 20 at 7 p.m. with the Executive Committee meeting. At 7:30 p.m.; the regular meeting will convene. The meeting will be held at the Senior Center. ❖ Board of Education The Perquimans County Board of Education will meet in regular session on Monday, July 20 at 7:30 p.m. at the Perquimans County Board of Education Building. Newly elected and re-elected board members, Charles Cheezum, Walter Leigh and Marjorie Rayburn, will take the oath of office at this meeting. ❖ Mandatory athletic meeting There will be a mandatory meeting for athletes planning to participate in any fall sport at Perquimans County High School and their parents on July 29 at 7:30 p.m. This meeting is being held in accordance with the new policy set by the North Carolina High School Athletic Association. Parents and athletes must be present in order for athletes to be eligi ble to play. Proof of the required physical examination must be obtained by that date. During the meeting, the athletic handbook will be distributed and discussed. Athletes will meet briefly with coaches. For more information, contact Athletic Director Harrell Thach at 426-5778. ❖ Eootball practice Perquimans County High School varsity and junior varisty football practice will begin on Aug. 3. The Rev. Joseph Wynns offici ated. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Sawyer and Mr. and Mrs. Freddie Snell, all of Columbia. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe T. White Jr. of Hertford. Given in marriage by her brother, M.J. Snell, the bride chose a gown of white satin adorned with pearls and sequins with a church length train. Her headpiece was adorned with rosettes, pearls and sequins and a blush veil adorned with pearls and sequins. She carried a bouquet of gardenias, roses, daisies and greenery. Maid of honor was Penny Rhodes of Columbia. Bridesmaids were April Coblitz, sister of the bride of Columbia; Freida Snell, sister of the bride of Greenville; Kathy Dahl, step-sister of the bride of Columbia and Dena Cram, Moulton wed Bridget! L. Moulton of Saline, Michigan, and Justin S. Cram were married on June 17,1998. The bride is the daughter of Barry and Carol Moulton of Saline Mich. Ushers were Kenny Waters, brother-in-law of the groom of Garner; and Jason Smith, Willie Storey, and Ersal Overton, all of Hertford. Mistress of ceremonies was Fay Boyd of Creswell. Wedding music was provid ed by Morgan Clough of Columbia, pianist. A reception was held follow ing the ceremony at the Tyrrell Hall in Columbia. The couple honeymooned in Gatlinburg, Tenn. The bride is a graduate of COA. She is employed at Coastal Carolina Family Practice. The groom is a graduate of ECSU. He is employed by the NC Department of Motor Vehicles. Paul G. Hood of Hertford. The bride is a 1997 graduate of Saline High School in Michigan, and is currently employed at Macon Telemarketing sales, in Macon, Ga. The groom is a 1997 gradu ate of Perquimans County High School, and is currently employed in US Air Force. The couple will make their home in Macon.
