rate their 40th wedding
anniversary on Sunday, Aug.
16 by renewing their vows at
St. Anne’s Catholic Church in
Edenton. The couple were
hiarried Aug. 16, 1958 at State
College, Penn.
The children of the couple,
Theresa Gautreaux of Long
Beach, Calif; Maria Baker of
State College, Penn.; Maureen
Pully of Oklahoma City; T.G.
Weeks 111 of Hertford;
Kathleen (Kacey) Jones of
Durham, and Mary Jo Pitt of
Virginia Beach, will host an
old fashioned pig pickin’ on
Sunday Aug, 16 at 1 p.m. at
their parents' home at Holiday
Island.
All friends and neighbors
are invited.

Stallings of Elizabeth City cel
ebrated their 50th wedding
anniversary on July 3. They
were honored at a surprise cel
ebration and a gathering of
their families in the Secret
Room of the Elizabeth Ciity
Bed & Breakfast.
The couple also traveled to
Myrtle Beach, SC, where they
vacationed with their children
and grandchildren, Dwayne,
Kathy and Megan Stallings of
Hertford and Glenda, Dan, Ben
and Sarah Tosado of Miami FI.

30 years
Carl and Cathy Mumm of
Hertford will celebrate their
30th wedding anniversary on
i Saturday, Aug. 15 at an open
house at Berea Church of
Christ on New Hope Road
from 2 to 5 p.m. They were
married on Aug. 8, 1968 at
Yutan, Nebraska and have
lived in Hertford since April
1976. Friends are invited. No
gifts please.

Winfall and Charles J. Baker
of Belvidere were married at 3
p.m. Aug. 1, 1998 at Up River
Friends Meeting. Pastor Eric
Woods officiated.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Grover M.
Hollowell of Winfall and the
late James M. Trueblood.
The groom is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Julian E. Baker of
Belvidere.
The bride was given in mar
riage by her parents.
The bride wore a formal
gown of white satin. It was
designed with a iovely square
neckline and cap sleeves all
edged in pearls and crystal
beads. The bodice of the
princess styled gown was
appliqued with re-embroi-
dered lace and pearls. The
chapel length train was
enriched with lace appliques
and scroll work of pearls. The
back was accented with satin
roses and beaded satin stream
ers. The bride chose a iace
tiara with fingertip doubie veil
of illusion. The bride carried a
bouquet of white calla lilies
and yellow roses.
Maid of honor was Julie
Trueblood of Winfall, sister of
the bride.
Bridesmaids were Cara
Sumners and Eva McKeel,
both of Greenville; Tammy
Baccus of Raleigh, cousin of
the bride; and Nicole Baker of
Raleigh, sister of the groom.
The bridesmaids wore long
gown of yellow-gold crepe back
satin. The gowns were
designed with scoop neckline,
empire waist and princess
panel A-line skirts. The band
ing of satin at the back was
accented with rosettes and
long panel streamers.
Flower girl was Sydni
Baker of Hertford, cousin of
the groom.
Ringbearer was Tyler
Sawyer of Camden, cousin of
the bride.
The groom’s father served
as best man.
Ushers were Chris Baker of
Belvidere, brother of the
groom; Lance Winslow, Allen
Stallings, and Bryan Winslow
all of Belvidere.
Honor attendants were Kari
Roach, Kelly Baker, Brad
Miller, and Kyle Tschour.
Mistresses of ceremonies
were Jewel Winslow of
Belvidere, and Wanda
Stallings of Tyner.
Wedding music was provid
ed by "Vicki Johnson, pianist;
Hannah Lane, violinist; Darryl
Stallings, soloist, and Julie
Trueblood, soloist.
A reception was held in Up
River Friends Meeting Social
Hall immediately following the
ceremony.
The couple honeymooned in
Gatlinburg, Tenn.
The bride is a graduate of
East Carolina University. She
is employed with Perquimans
County Schools.
The groom is a graduate of
College of The Albemarle. He
is self-employed with Baker
Farms.

Lunch menus for the Nutrition Program for the Elderly at .the
Perquimans County Senior Center for Aug. 10-14 are:

The Perquimans County Health Department announces its
schedule for Aug. 10-14 as follows:
Aug. 10 - DEC in the morning.
Aug. 11 - Prenatal in the morning DEC in the afternoon,
Aug. 12 - Child health all day.
Aug. 13 - Immunizations 5-7 p.m.
Aug. 14 - General health in the afternoon, pills/problems all
day
❖ Indian Summer fish fry
There will be a fish fry at Missing Mill Park on Aug. 28, 4-7
p.m. Proceeds will be used to help fund the Indian Summer
Festival, which will be sponsored this year by the Downtown
Hertford Merchants Association. Tickets are $5, take-out only,
and may be purchased from most downtown businesses.

The Senior Center is offering a golf outing to Roanoke
Country Club on Aug. 19. Departure time is 7 a.m. Cost is $15,
