Menus for Perquimans County Schools for-Sept. 21-25 are
as follows:
Monday - Breakfast - Pecan spins. Lunch - Chicken nuggets
or pizza, fries, peas, corn, pears, biscuit, mUk.
Tuesday - Breakfast - Sausage biscuit. Lunch - Spaghetti
w/roll or hot dog, potato rounds, baked beans, green beans,
pineapple, mUk.
Wednesday - Breakfast - Cinnamon triangles. Lunch -
Cheeseburger or pork choppette, fries, limas, lettuce & toma
to, fresh fruit, milk.
Thursday - Breakfast - Breakfast bagel. Lunch - Soft taco
w/lettuce & tomato or fish fillet sandwich, carrots, potato
wedges, field peas & snaps, peaches, mUk.
Friday - Breakfast - Apple turnover. Lunch - Stir fry w/rice
or chick fillet sandwich, fries, broccoli, mixed greens, apple
sauce, milk.
♦♦♦ Senior nutrition site menus
Lunch menus for the Nutrition Program for the Elderly at
the Perquimans County Senior Center for Sept. 21-25 are:
Monday - Glazed baked ham, snap beans, juice, scalloped
potatoes, roll, jello, milk.
Tuesday - Barbecue chicken, butterbeans, pineapple slices,
macaroni & cheese, roll, cookies, mUk.
Wednesday - Swedish meatballs, broccoli, juice, rice,
bread, gravy, brownie, milk.
Thursday - Chicken pot pie, baked apples, corn muffins,
jello fruit salad, milk.
Friday - cheeseburger, baked beans, coleslaw, fruit cobbler,
milk.
❖ Clinic schedule
The Perquimans County Health Department announces its
schedule for Sept. 21-25 as follows:
Monday - Prenatal in the morning, women’s health in the
afternoon, WIC all day.
Tuesday - Prenatal and WIC in the morning.
Wednesday - COLPO in the afternoon.
Thursday - Adult health all day, immunizations 5-7 p.m.
Friday - Teen clinic in the morning, general in the after
noon, pills/problems all day.
1999 Birthday calendar
The Belvidere-Chappell Hill Volunteer Fire Department is
taking orders and listings for the 1999 Perquimans County
Birthday Calendar. Deadline to order is Thursday, Oct. 1 Call
Jennifer Layden at 297-2901, Carolyn R. Winslow at 297-2853
after 5 p.m. to order. One calendar with up to 4 listings is $5
each, additional listing is 50 cents. Proceeds will go towards
the purchase of a new building.
♦♦♦ Blueprints for new fire station
The Belvidere-Chappell Hill Volunteer Fire Department
will host a community meeting on Monday, Sept. 21 at 7:30
p.m. at the Up River Friends Meeting. This meeting is to dis
cuss and show the blueprints for the new fire station.
♦♦♦ Board of Education meeting
The date of the regularly scheduled Perquimans County
Board of Education meeting has been changed for September.
The Board will meet in regular session on Monday, Sept. 28 at
7:30 p.m. at the Perquimans County Board of Education
Budding.
♦♦♦ Star Trek fan club
The Star Trek fan club. Shuttle Albemarle, will hold its
monthly meeting on Thursday, Sept. 17 at 7 p.m. at the
Perquimans County Library. New members are welcome. For
more information, call Lisa at 426-4621.
♦♦♦ Pettigrew Regional Library
The Pettigrew Regional library Board will meet on
Monday, Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. on the Shepard Pruden Memorial
Library in Edenton.
❖ Library membership drive
Friends of Perquimans County Library will have a mem
bership drive celebration, Monday, Sept. 14, 7 p.m. at the
library. There will be refreshments, door prizes, entertain
ment and a preview of used book sale gems.
❖ NAACP
The Perquimans County NAACP Branch will hold its regu
lar monthly meeting, Monday, Sept. 21, at 7:30 p.m. The
Executive Committee will meet at 7 p.m. at the Hertford
Senior Citizen building. Plans are being made for the State
NAACP meeting to be held Oct. 29, 30, and 31 at the Gateway
Holiday Inn in Rocky Mount.
❖ ECSU Booster Club
The ECSU Booster Club will hold a meeting, Wednesday,
Sept. 16, 7 p.m. at the K.E. White Graduate Center, Room 130.

The Perquimans County Democratic party will meet on
Sept. 17 at 7 p.m. at the courthouse. For information call 297-
