Pig out on the Green
Historic Hertford, Inc. wUl host Pig Out on the Green
on Friday, May 20,11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. on the
courthouse lawn featxuring barbecued pork plates at $6
each. Tickets are available at the Visitors Center. The
Grow Masters Relay for Life team wUl hold a bake sale
during the event.
Pancake breakfast, yard sale
The Forestburg Ruritan Club wRl hold a pancake and
sausage breakfast and yard sale on Satm-day, May 14, 7
a.m.-noon, at the club building at the corner of New
Hope and Woodland Church roads. Cost is $4. Proceeds

Democratic Party
The Perquimans County Democratic Party wUl meet
at the Perquimans 2020 budding on Harvey Point Road

Community forum
The Perquimans County Branch of NAACP wUl host
a community forum to discuss issues affecting youth
and young adxUts on May 14,6-8 p.m., at the high school.

Relay for Life luminary sale
Chowan/Perquimans Relay for Life is seUing Imni-
naries in honor of cancer survivors and in memory of
those who have lost their battles with cancer.
Luminaries are $10. Forms are avaUable at chmrches,
doctors’ offices and restaurants in the area, or from

Thrift store
The Hertford Commimity Aid and Thrift Store at
Ward Shopping Center is open Tuesday, Wednesday,
Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. The non-profit store
has clothing and household items for sale. Clothing is
avaUable at no charge to those in need.
Concerned Women for America
Concerned Women for America of the Greater
Albemarle wUl meet for prayer, to learn how to preserve
the institution of marriage and famUy in America as
designed by God, and to stay informed about issues con

Any rising 7th-12th grade student planning to partic
ipate in sports at the high or middle school levels during
the 2005-06 school year shoiUd pick up a sports physical
form from the school office, complete it and retimn it to

with meat sauce, corn dog nuggets, tater tots, tossed
salad, lima beans, pineapple tidbits, garlic bread.
Wednesday: Breakfast: Sausage biscuit. Lunch: GriUed
chicken sandwich. Ham and cheese sandwich, cabbage,
boUed potatoes, beets, applesauce. Thxirsday: Breakfast:
Muffins. Lunch: Chicken fajitas, smoked sausage,
french fries, succotash, green beans, fresh fruit. Friday:
Breakfast: Breakfast bagel. Lunch: Barbecue sandwich
with slaw, fish, french fries, baked beans, black-eyed
peas, fruit. AU meals served with milk.

May 16-20: Monday: Barbecued pork sandwich, slaw,
fresh fruit, sherbet or pudding. Tuesday: Meatloaf, lima
beans, fruit salad, mashed potatoes, roU, gravy, cookie.
Wednesday: Chicken parmesan with noodles, broccoli,
orange juice, bread, brownie. Thursday: Chopped sir
loin steak, stewed tomatoes, peaches, creamed corn,
roll, rice pudding. Friday: Club sandwich with lettuce
and tomato, potato salad, orange juice, cookie. All meals
served with milk.
Health department clinics
The Perquimans Health Department is open daily 8
a.m.-5 p.m. There is a night clinic every Thursday, 5-7
p.m. May 16-20: Monday: Prenatal and general aU day.
Tuesday: General and pediatrics all day. Wednesday:
General all day. Thursday: Women’s health services
a.m., prenatal p.m. Friday: General and WIC aU day.
Regular government meetings
Elected governing bodies hold regular meetings each
month. The schedule for those meetings in Perquimans

The 4th Annual Wood and Wool Expo will be held on

Plantation Clubhouse. The Expo will feature the wood
