Perquimans Weekly
The Daily Reflector in Greenville, NC is
seeking an experienced Level II Press Operator.
This position requires the Press Operator to be
proficient in basic newspaper printing techniques
including basic ink/water balance, registration
and press quality standards.
Responsibilities:
• Reading print order forms
• Operate a forklift and clamp truck
• Prepare rolls of newsprint for printing press
• Maintain consumables used during the operation
of the printing press (ink, water, solvent, grease)
• Operate and understand paster/zero speed
splicer with less than 5% missed splices
• Engage and disengage printing units as needed
• Bend and hang printing plates efficiently
• Properly clean, mount and remove press
blankets and press ink/water rollers
• Enter all production information into data
collection
• Perform all work in accordance with established
safety procedures
• Troubleshoot and problem solve
Candidate must be able to read and write
English, perform basic math skills, build rapport
and work in a team environment, as well as work
in a fast paced environment which requires good
time management and a high standard of quality.
Candidate must be able to lift up to 60 pounds
and stand for long periods of time. Position
requires overtime and ability to work a flexible
schedule which may include working some
weekends and holidays. Requires one to two
years of offset printing experience.
