Thank You I would like to thank those who organized our class reunion for September 10.1 had a great time seeing my classmates and their spouses, it brought back many fond memories. The fellowship and conversation was worth the trip. There is a lot of darkness in our world as well as compassion, fortunately, my class fell into the latter category. „ k Thank you again for such a nice time Sincerely, Vern Hardison (Beany) Spirit and Truth Ministries 206 W. Main St. Hertford, NC 27944 (252) 426-1206 spirit2truth @ yahoo.com Pastor Arthur Manigault THE POWER OF PRAYER MATTHEW 6:6 (NRSV) “ But whenever you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you.” One of the most neglected practices in our spiritual walk is that of prayer. Prayer is to your spiritual life as breathing is to your natural life. I would like to suggest to you that many of us are fighting a losing battle simply because we don’t pray enough. You would be amazed at the number of people who have encountered serious adversity in relationships, marriages, issues with their children, etc. and still choose not to take it to the Lord in prayer. 2nd Corinthians 10:3-4 helps to shed more light on the power of prayer, it reads as follows: 3 Indeed, we live as human beings, but we do not wage war according to human standards; 4 for the weapons of our warfare are not merely human, but they have divine power to destroy strongholds. Simply put, arguing and fighting to solve your problems have no power. Everything you need to walk in victory has already been placed inside of you by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I would like to encourage you today to embark on a new spiritual journey. First I would ask you to pray for ALL of your opposition, enemies included! Secondly I would ask to continue in prayer on a daily basis, not just when trouble comes. Thirdly I would just say this: The next time trouble comes your way, don’t say it! Pray it! Give God a chance, he hasn’t let me down yet! God Bless!
