It is why we encourage reading daily more than some “catch phrase”. The Exodus is a picture of the power of God to take us from the bondage of sin. The wilderness journey is a place of faith testing and learning. The tabernacle was built and law was given. After Moses, Joshua was the new leader that moves the people beyond the Jordan and into the Promised Land. The Promised Land is our life from salvation to Heavenly reward. There are troubles and trials as we move into the the new life. There are unbelievers who occupy the land. Joshua gives this word of encouragement, “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and hen you will have good success.” ( Joshua 1:8 ) The tribes were assigned areas throughout the land. They all worked and fought together to drive out idolaters and unbelievers. We still live in a land with unbelievers. It has become apparent that there is much work to do if we want to possess this land as land of promise. The encouragement given to the people of Joshua’s time is still good for us. God favors those who are faithful to Him. It is our choice to occupy the Promised Land and with God’s help drive out those who despise the what is written in The Book. Let’s pray for a local and national revival in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
