People are invited to bring their personal documents and have them profession ally shredded for free. ■ Story time The Perquimans County Library will hold pre-school story time with Ms. Nicia every Thursday at 11 a.m. ■ LEGO Build The Perquimans County Library will hold a LEGO Build every Thursday at 4 p.m. ■ Bingo American Legion Post 126 hosts bingo on Thurs days at 6:45 p.m. at their building at 111W. Academy St. ■ Weight loss Take Off Pounds Sensibly (TOPS) holds weekly support group meetings on Thursdays from 10 am. until 11 am. at the Perquimans County Se nior Center. Call 426-2022 or visit www.tops.org. SATURDAY ■ Yard Sale The Perquimans County Senior Center, 1072 Har vey Point Road, will host a community yard sale on Saturday from 8 am. until noon. Rental spaces are $15. Donations are wel come through April 20. For more information, call Pen ny at 426-5404. ■ Cleanup Day The Citizens for the Preservation and Growth of Hertford will be holding a clean up day Saturday. Meet behind the municipal building. The clean up will run from 9 am. until noon. MONDAY ■ Teen Talk The Perquimans County Library will hold “Teen Talk” on the second Monday of every month at 4:30 p.m. TUESDAY ■ Mock Crash Perquimans County High School will host a mock crash event the morning of April 24 to bring awareness of drinking and driving. EMS, law enforcement and the Nightingale helicopter will be involved in the event at the high school. ■ Book Club An adult book club will meet Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Perquimans County Li brary. The group is reading “Bossypants” by Tina Fey. ■ Chapel on the Sound Chapel on the Sound will be holding Depression Anonymous meetings on Tuesdays at 6 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. The 12- step program is for those experiencing depression or those who have gone through depression. For more information, call 426- 1160. ■ Weight Watchers Weight Watchers will meet on Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m. at Hertford United Methodist Church’s Fellow ship Hall. Call 331-5426. APRIL 27 ■ Golf Tournament The seventh annual Team Lesley four-person Super- ball golf tournament is on April 27 at The Sound Golf Links at Albemarle Planta tion. Registration starts at noon and the shotgun start is at 1 p.m. The cost for a team is $300 and lunch is provided. Contact Lynn Knapp 252-331-3151 for more information. ■ Blood Drive The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive April 27 from 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. at Perquimans County High School APRIL 27-28 ■ Riverbash On April 27 the Bear Swamp Ruritans will hold a fish fry at the Perquimans Chamber from 5-7 p.m. From 7-8 p.m. there will be a Gospel Sing at Hertford Bap tist. Downtown events April 28 are tentatively scheduled from 10 am. until 10 p.m. Tickets for Dine, Drink, Dance have sold out. APRIL 28 ■ Garden Show The Albemarle Master Gardener’s Show will be held on April 28 from 9 am. until 3 p.m. at the Perqui mans County Recreation Center. An auc tion starts at 6 p.m. ■ Rabies Clinic AWARE will hold a rabies clinic on May 5 from 1-3 p.m. at Missing Mill Park in Hertford. Cost is $8 cash. MAYS ■ CPR Class Perquimans County Emergency Management will hold a free CPR class on May 8 at 6 p.m. in the media center at Perquimans County High School. ■ Rotary Meetings The Hertford Rotary Club is creating a new Satellite Rotary Club and looking for younger people to join. Organizational meetings are planned for May 8 at 6 p.m. at 252 Grill and May 19 at 9:30 a.m. at Brew 2 Rescue Coffee shop. Those interested can also visit the Rotary club which meets each Tuesday at 6:45 am. at Captain Bob’s Restaurant.
