Due to Tuesday’s press dead

“This expansion shows
North Carolina is a place where
businesses want to build their
future,” Cooper said. “Compa

keep their business growing.”
Founded in 2006, East Coast
Steel performs steel fabrication

Winners of the Hertford
Alive’s Pumpkin Painting con
test were announced, although
everyone who competed
should be a considered a win
ner.
“The Town of Hertford and
the Hertford Historic Incor
porated would like to thank
all who supported “Hertford
Alive” and the children who
participated in its pumpkin
painting contest,” Mayor Ear-
nell Brown said. “The children,
.in four age categories, joyful
ly painted and submitted 32
pumpkin entries. They were
all winners. The purpose of the
event was to provide a safe,
social environment for our cit
izens, give the children some
fun outdoor time and to sup
port our local businesses. It
was a success. We are looking
for more opportunities to pro
vide our citizens with social
activities all in a safe environ
ment.
A key organizer of Hertford
Alive, Sonya Hodges added,
“We were successful by COVID
standards and everyone great
ly enjoyed themselves. The
pumpkin painting contest was
great success and hopefully
brought a smile to people’s
faces during this time. We look
forward to seeing all of the
wonderful creations children
create next Halloween.”
Sponsored by Historic Hert

Canceled
BY MILES LAYTON

A round-up of all things
Perquimans County...
The annual Perqui

Legion Post 126 has been
canceled this year due to the
current COVID-19 situation
and current imposed restric

canceled.
The commander said the
post will put up its flag
display at the courthouse
monument that honors the
county’s military veterans.
A small tribute is planned,
but will involve only a few
people. A small observance
will be held at the monthly
meeting of the post.
Veterans Day, observed

served, or are serving, in
