The invocation was given by Mrs. C. T. Foe, Sr., followed by a brans wide stew, barbecue and chicken dinner. The program was in charge of Mrs. Carl Bunting and the so loists were Mrs. J. M. Heldman, Jr. and Mr. Tommy Waller. A duet was rendered by Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Waller and the aeeompanist was Mrs. Charles Cheek. The speaker for the evening was Mr. Carl Sapp who talked on commu nity development. Outstanding decorations were used on the tables. They consisted of old cedar stumps, cleaned and pol ished, and decorated with scotch broom, jonquils, eollard blooms and pansies. Mrs. S. D. Henley is recovering from a severe attack of flu. Mrs. Luther Smith is home from Watts Hospital and is recovering rapidly. ami § i Mi £ CHILDREN LOVE BIRTHDAYS, TOTS AND ANIMALS—I. Jamea Dunnigan, age 6, has a birthday cake almost as big as he is. Rickey Kale, nephew of Ruth K. Mcßroom, is hold ing his eat, Butch. Rickey was born in France and is now three years old. 4. Deborah Asa Garrard, daughter of Mr. avtd Mrs. Allen Oarrard. Debby Ann is twenty-one months old. Her father is a Tapper-Drawing Tender on the 2nd shift in No. 4 Card Dept. Mr. and Mrs. David Earp, 918 Caro lina Arenas, celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary o% April 7, 1982. They were married on April 7, 1912, and have made their home here all of tt'oae years. They have two sosa, Elton and Warren, both of whom are married. Elton is employed at Liggett k Myers, and Warren is in service and is now stationed at Fort Bragg. Both Mr. and Mrs. Earp are active members of the Weslyan Methodist Church and take an active part in community affairs. Mrs. Earp has al ways taken a special interest in her yard and the growing of flowers. Congratulations are in order for these two floe people and their many frissds wish tfeem many more happy years of msrrifcd life.
