Page 4 WAREHOUSE Reporter: Hodge Phifer We are proud that Mr. Clifton of the Finishing Plant is able to be back with us again after being out sick for about two months. Dollie Patterson, daughter of the late Rev. A. J. Patterson of the Cloth Room, has returned home for the summer months after complet ing her first year in college. She entered Scotia Seminary at the opening of the 1952-53 school term. She was on the Honor Roll for the whole school term. Dollie was raised here in Cooleemee from child hood. She attended elementary school here in Cooleemee, then en tered the Davie Training School at Mocksville where she completed her high school work before entering college. She likes college work and is looking forward to returning to college this fall. We are grieved over the death of Rev. A. J. Patterson. He had been in bad health for several years and was seriously sick for some time. He was an employee of the Cloth Room. He will be greatl missed by his many friends in Cooleemee. Mrs. Ida Ijames is confined to the hospital. We hope she will soon be out again. Miss Annie Lu Knox has returned to Kate Bitting Memorial Hospital Nursing School to resume her school work after spending her va cation at home with Mr. and Mrs. Hodge Phifer and visiting friends and relatives. S. of her husband, Leonard; to the children and husband of Mrs. Joe Ellenburg in the loss of their mother and wife; and to the family of Mr. A. D. Walters. Did you see the big smile that Mrs. Esther Smith has been wear ing? She has a new granddaughter. Mr. and Mrs. Buck Jacobs are the proud parents of a son born on June 18th. Mr. and Mrs. Loman Jordan have a new son, born June 22nd. Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Mayberry were happy to have part of their children home the week-end of June 27th. Mr. Denny Creason of the U. S. Navy spent the week-end of June 27th with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilburn Creason. We are hoping that more of you will give us pictures and news after filling out the Questionnaire last month. LABORATORY Jack Jerome attended "Water Works Operators School held at State College June l-sth. We are glad to welcome two bovs to the laboratory. Wayne Howell, of Cooleemee, and Fuller Karriker, of Durham, will be with us for the summer. Gay Berrier attended the Meth odist Conference at Lake Junaluska the week of June 17th. C., has recently em ployed Marvin Spry as minister of music. Mr. and Mrs. Spry moved to Clinton June 19th and Marvin began his Church duties on June 21st. Marvin is the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Spry. His dad works in the Shop and his mom in the Spinning Room, both on the second shift. The children of Mr. George Gib son gave hiin a surprise birthday dinner on June 7th. Wv rick is in school at Ft. Meade, Maryland. Sgt. Wvrick spent a few days here too. Constance Atwood is enjoying a vacation in Amarillo, Texas. Lorena Nail spent a week at Camp Crabtree Creek. Gilbert Atwood is with the Na tional Guard for two weeks' train ing at Ft. MeClellan, Alabama. Carolyn Jean Wagner of Wash ington, D. C., is spending a few weeks with Carolyn White and Jean Wagner.
