Forsyth School System, was master of ceremony. Maj'or Roger Swisher gave words of welcome. Speaker for the event was Rev. Cornell Osborne, pastor of Della- brook Presbyterian Church of Winston-Salem. Rev. Osborne was intro duced by Mr. Friende. Rev. Osborne spoke with refe rence to the club’s motto “Together for others.’’ He said, “In this life there are many people who need somebody to just listen to their problems.” He saw the club as an organization reaching out to others and letting them know they are concerned. We must be attentive enough to hear their cry and answer.” Rev. Osborne installed the new officers for 1974. The Good Neighbor Club thanks everyone for making their Banquet a success. Mr. Rufus Warren visi ted with Rev. and Mrs. G.L. Warren in Mt. Airy recently. Mr. McQueen Jones and family of Walkertown visited Mr. Jones mother, Mrs. Mammie Jones re cently. The Missionary Circle held their fifth Sunday service March 31, with the Pastor Rev. S.L. Fogle as speaker. Sick and shut-in- Mr. Thomas Mumford under went an operation at Forsyth Hospital, recently. Mr. Frank Dick is a patient at High Point Memorial Hospital. Mr. Odell Warren is a patient at Forsyth Memorial Hospital in; Winston-Salem. Mrs. Mo- zelle Warren was in an: accident recently. She was treated and released at' High Point Memorial Hos pital. Also in the accident was Mr. Ernest Smith and son, Rodney. We wish for the sick and shut-ins' everywhere a very speedy recovery. Tar Heel Day is provided for students from all over the state and out of state, to visit UNC. Students are given a tour of the school and information concerning, the school and its activities. *** The local Randolph, county chapter of the, NAACP held a mass- meeting at the St John's Baptist Church recently. . The meeting was designed to inform the neighborhood Black parents and students of the high rate of drop-outs ^ in the local Junior and Senior High School system. E.
