The nationally syndicated, weekly televis ed dance show will also I 'feature vocalist Minnie Riperton and the Dynamic Superiors, a new singing group from Washington, D.C. Singing his latest single, Stevie Wonder’s “Golden Lady,” “Hard Times in El Barrio” and “California Dreamin”,” Jose enter tains in the distinctive fashion that brought him fame and fortune with his electrifying rendition of “Light My Fire,” his first of 31 gold albums. Jose recently scored the theme song for the NBC television series “Chico and the Man” and was seen last month on that network’s “McMillan and Wife”. He is soon scheduled to guest star on “Kung Fu,” adding to his laurels as recording artist, performer, songwriter and scorer. Chicago-born Minnie Ri perton, with a voice range that spans five octaves, will -perform “Loving You” and “Reasons.” Like many other Black singers, Minnie first soloed in church but, unlike the majority, she also studied opera which aided her vocal develop ment and broadened her style. The Dynamic Superiors, five young men from the nation’s capital, make their Soul Train debut with “Shoe-Shoe Shine.” Com posed of brothers Tony and Maurice Washington, George Wesley Peterbark, Jr., George Spann and Michael McCalpin, they bring together a polished blend of precision vocaliz ing and choreography. During the four-week program, AFROTC cadets will participate in a wide range of activities designed to reveal and develop leadership, as well as provide an introduction to military operations and life. Cadet Williams is among approximately 3,900 young men and women involved in the special training at 13 Air Force bases this summer. The cadet is a member of the AFROTC unit at the University of North Caro lina at Chapel Hill.
