Food Town Moves Into Wake County
SALISBURY - Food
Tovra Stores is moving into
Wake County, according to an
announcement made today
by Food Town president
Ralph W. Ketner.
The new Food Town is
located in Cary, near Raleigh,
and was formerly occupied
by a large competitive super
market. The building being
leased occupies 28,000 square
feet of floor space. Grand
opening date has been tenta
tively set for August.
“We’re happy that we have
this opportunity to make
Food Town’s ‘Lowest Food
Prices in North Carolina’
available to the residents of
Cary and Wake County,”
commented Ketner.
This newest acquisition
will give Food Town thirty
units in piedmont North
Carolina. A new store opens
in Gastonia on July 16 and
and an additional unit is
scheduled for opening in
Winston-Salem in late July.
Other Food Town units are
being readied in Salisbury,
Wadesboro, Laurinburg, and
Greensboro.
A Salisbury-based chain,
Food Town operates its own
warehousing facilities, includ
ing grocery, frozen foods,
dairy, and produce. Salet
for 1974 were in excess of
$94 million.
