The Outreach Information and Referral system serves as an agency through which citizens age 60 and over can receive help in health care, education, food stamps, transportation and other areas of concern. The Foundation is particularly proud of the fact that it received funds to establish HealthCo, Inc., the Vance Warren Community Health Center. HealthCo has proved to be of significant value to Warren County because the doctor-patient ration prior to its existence was 7,500 to one. HealthCo’s accomplishments will be discussed in detail in the next issue. Considering the fact that the Soul City Foundation has to depend entirely on its ability to seek out sources of financial assistance, it has managed to amass an incredible track record. The Foundation is clearly about the business of caring about the community’s problems and then doing somethin? to solve them.
