WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 11,1976 A RIDDLE IN RHYMES by Rev. T.M. Walker WHAT AM I? 1 am the in and out traveler; not one to tarry; Though I leave my trail in place. With my one eye I'm a sharer of a tail I carry, As I narrow gaps between a wide space. 1 wear no garments, no leather and have no skin; But I weave among these like stiff wire. When given assignments I stick there until I win A victory for some wearer’s atire. WHAT AM I? Whether I’m hand driven or pulled out by fingers, I am important as if a machine. Things cotton or silken often around me linger Until I bring things together at the seam. If ever I’m in a haystack, 1 am difficult to find, Or maybe searching for me is a vain try. Users hastily put me back after my tail is entwined In fabrics that would otherwise burst wide. WHAT AM I? Not only do I squeeze through silk, or even leather, But 1 will even drag a trail through flesh. Easily as a breeze I work in all kinds of weather, Consentrating on rips that are quite fresh. When garments are repaired, or flesh brought together. All because of what’s strung through my eye It’s then because I dared to be used for the better Of things in life worth the while. WHAT AM I? The first game was won by Chavis Juniors using a fullcourt press and zone defense. The superb backcourt performers scored 26 and 7 points respectively, while playing great defensive basketball. Chavis strongmen Don Armstrong and Tim Clinton also turned in outstanding performances by controlling the board and scoring a combined 54 points. Armstrong was high scorer for both teams with 43 points and leading rebounder with 22. Clinton played tough defense and contributed 20 points and 7 rebounds. “Youth for Christ” couldn’t muster much offense but Donnie Green contributed 31 points and 13 rebounds. He was followed by Larry Gregory with 13 and James Little with 12, Art Lovette 8, and Mike Jarvis 4. The portly Calitornian rallied some what in the ’75 season, rising from 35th on the money list to 14th with one victory and a second to bolster the $102,000-plus season. Casper’s win came in New Orleans. Trevino, who’s won five major titles (two U.S. Opens, two British Opens and a PGA Tournament), suffered an off-sea son last year with just one triumph and a pair of thirds. However, the chatterbox didn’t cry all that much since he finished 9th on the earnings list and took home over $134,000. Graham’s Open victory surprised a lot Is Your Favorite Merchant Advertising In Your Paper? WHY NOT? Ask Him of people, but he has been a steady tour performer with over $600,000. The Nashville, Tenn., native is the exact opposite of Trevino in that he arrives at a tournament site without fanfare and leaves the same way. Like Trevino, however, he manages to make his stay for four days-profitable. Snead’s only victory came early in ’75 when he captured the Andy Williams-San Diego Open in a playoff against North Carolina native Ray Fiord and Bobby Nichols. Sam’s nephew went on to 17th on the money list with $91,000. COLD SORES AND ^EVER BLISTERS: THROBBING PAIN, , UNSIGHTLY SCABS Now there is Blistr Klear* Medi cation.
