THli TRIBUNAL AID WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 18,1976 get tlie lob done | i SADIE’S CORNER \ • (Tips To The Ladies) ‘ Dear Sadie, All through high school I had dated this fellow and 1 care a great deal for him. Well I went to college and he took a Civil Service job. We communicated for a while and then he stopped writing and calling and I didn’t know why. 1 later learned from my family that my father had been answering the phone and not giving me his messages and the few times he had come to my house asking for me that my father had been a little rude to him. In talking with my father I learned that he was not paying for my education for me to get serious with a local guy that did not have a professional, white collar job. 1 was upset about my father’s attitude and would really like to continue my relationship with my boyfriend. How should 1 explain this to the fellow? I am really worried because I heard he was talking to another girl since he had not heard from me. Terry Dear Terry, My advise to you is to understand your father’s feeling first because a lot of parents have this feeling when they are paying for a daughter’s higher education. Sometimes they forget that her happiness counts also along'with an education. Next you should try to reach your fellow and explain to him how you had not received his calls and not known of his visits to your house. If you really care for him and he cares for you then you should be able to work out your situation. He should also have understanding as to how your father feels and treat his feelings with respect. Sooner or later if your father sees that you are really serious about this fellow but respects him as a father and does not wish to go against his will then he will be considerate of your feelings. I would also suggest that it be best to finish your education and see if the fellow is willing to wait for you also. Sadie If you have questions or suggestions to SADIE’S CORNER, you tan have them answered by writing to THE TRIBUNAL AID. From Zooland “Grow old along with me. The best is yet to be.
