I have a two year old son bv a girl and I have H' give him support through the court system ever> two weeks. I his girl also receives a check from welfare aiul tood stamps and also medical stickers. With all this she stioll does not take care of my son. He is alw ays dirts, hair not combed, and I feel that she is not doing her job as a mother. Whenever I say something to her about this situation or ask for my child, I am (mlv cursed. I liis makes me feel like not giving another dime to this gir. What should I do? BRM Dear. BRM: I know that it is hard for you to give support to your child and then see that he is not taken care of properly. 1 suggest that you do not stop your support pavments since it would mean your arrest for non-support. You need to talk to the girl's social worker and request that it you are supporting your child and the girl is also receiving a check lrt>m St>cia! Services each month that your child be properly cared for or taken from the girl if she is tound to be an unfit mother. A man also has a right to take a girl to court as being an unfit mother just as a girl has a right to demand support for a child. The main thing is for the child not to have to suffer. Sadie P.S. Dear Sir: I write to commend you and your writers on certain articles in your paper, I'HE IKIBUNAL AID. First, I’d like lo say that your articles on Black History show and tell things that many encyclop edias or books on slavery or Black history may not or do not tell. Your article on "Black Codes” (Wed. 1/28/76) points out things that slaves were restricted to. This also shows how Blacks, or Negro Ameri cans, have advanced in freedom, employment, speech, and into being a part of the country in which thev were born. Kwasikpui (Ask Me About Nature column) to answer questions or give advice to persons who write in questions concerning na ture. 1 also like "Sadie’s Corner." Adding to what I’ve already said, I admire the way that this newspaper points out Negro artists, athletes, and high-ranking policemen. There is nothing in the paper I dislike. Yours sincerely.
