Gastonia News STATESVIUE-The Twi- netles, a social group of 17 devoted members celebrat ed its First Anniversary Dance,Saturday, May 8 at the Elks Lodge. The ladies dressed in their club colors, wore long white gowns with gold cor- sages, full length white gloves and gold shoes. Their escorts (Statesville Twins), wore black bowties, with gold shirts, black bow- ties, black shoes and gold boutiniers. The club holding true to its past reputation for Go ing All The Way, thrilled a capacity crowd with their decorations, music, food and hospitality. The "Magnificients", a terrific band from Gaston ia, furnished the music with Patterson, the MG, accept- ing his responsibility with great poise and that special dignity that he continously displays. The Twinetts was origi nally formed last year from a fan club in support of the Statesviulle Twins Base ball Team. However, they found that at the conclusion of the baseball season, they weren'T READY TO DIS BAND, AND THUS THEY DIDN'T. Its very difficult to de scribe the events of the Twinetts without involving the Twins since their clubs are so closely entwined and interwoven. Their club motto perhaps may be better describe them;LET OUR FAITH BE ASSURANCE 6F THINGS HOPED FOR AND THE GONQUERER OF THINGS FORSEEN". Club members are;left to right standing rear.
