FOUR FERNE WOOD MARRIES JOHN ANDREW KENNEY, JR. In a beautiful ceremony witnessed by a small group of friends of the principals, the former Miss Larceuia Feme Wood became the bride of John Andrew Kenney, Jr., of Tuskegee, Alabama, Saturday, Juue 1.5, The ceremony was performed by the Rev. H. C. Miller, pastor of St. James Presbyterian Church, here, who stood before a background of palms and peonies with seven branch candalabras. Mrs. Kenuey's only attendant was her sister. Miss Anne R. Wood of Boston, Massachusettes. { Mr. Kenney had as his best man his brother, Howard Kenney of Tuskegee, Ala. The bride was given in marriage by her uncle, Dr. C. R. Wood <)t Gary, Indiana. Little John B McLaughlin, Jr., son of Dr. and Mrs. John B. McLauglin was ring bearer. Pre-nuptial music was played | by Bernard L. Mason, violinisl of A. and T. College, who was j accompanied Dy mis. in. welister. His numbers included: "Hymne A. Saint . Cecile," "Liebesleid." "A d 'o r a t i o n." "Meditation from Thais," and "Canzonetta." Mrs. C. C. Stewart used as wedding music "Bridal Chorus," from Lioheiigriu; "L.iebestraume." and Wedding March," Mendelssohn. Mrs. Kenney wore a gown of ivory satin with long sweeping train, torso waist, sweetheart neck, and long pointed sleeves. Her veil was of illusion in fingerlip length. She carried a shower bouquet of white bridal roses, 1 illy of the valley and orchids hi the center. A The maid of honor wore V buttercup marquisette o v e r / taffeta with low midriff, short v"* body, baby neckline, and puff sleeves. She carried a bouquet of yellow and white with blue snapdragons. Mrs. L>arcenia Wood, the bride's mother wore apple green crepe embroidered in coraj and white with sweeping skirt. Mrs. John A. Kenney. the groom's mother wore net over pink taffeta. She is the grand-neice of Prof. Charles Moore of New York, formerly of this city and founder of A. and T. College. She is a graduate of Bennett College and was a member of the faculty there when she received the FrancoAmerican Assistantship to study in France. The offer was cancelled because of war conditions. She holds the A. M. degree from Boston University and has done graduate work at Chicago University. She is at present a member of the faculty at Dudley High School. Mr. Keuney is the son of Dr. and Mrs. John A. -Kenney of Tuskegee. His father waV foundI er of the Community Hospital, Newark, N. J., and is at present medical director of John A. Andrew Hospital, Tuskegee. He is a graduate of Bates College aud has studied at Columbia and New York Universities. He is now enrolled in the medical school at Howard University. Other out-of-town guests included : Miss Elizabeth Kenney, Tuskegee; Mrs, James Williams, | New York; Junius Carter, Providence, Rhode Island; Mr. aud Mrs. George Windsor, Washington, D. C.; and Miss Hattie Brown. New York. Mrs. Kenney was honored at several affairs preceding the wedding which included an in formal party given by the Dudley High School faculty; a buffet supper by Mrs. W. Cora Haith. a bridge supper by Mrs. William A. Banner, a formal supper by Mrs. W. B. Windsor; the cake cutting by Mesdames J. B. McLaughlin, G. D. Tillman. W. L.. Woods, Jr.; breakfast by Mrs. W. L. Woods, Sr., President and Mrs. David Jones were hosts to the bridal party at dinner following the ceremony.
