That was apparently the reasoning of Eddie Montgomery, locar man, who was today sentenced to 12 months on the road by Judge D. C. McRae m municipal court when he faced a charge of exposing a child to fire. Evidence heard in court was that Montgomery had left a 7-year-oldt boy padlocked in while he Was away. Police found a kerosene lamp on the floor and other dangerous conditions when neighbors reported the Incident. ' But Eddie'thought fast and at the conclusion of court made Judge McRae a proposition. He told the court that while he was the father of the child, as well as three others, he was not married to their mother. He would 1 .
