Barnes, presiding, j made committee appointments to : handle the promotion and education of the mass X-ray survey among the Negroes at a meeting of the group at Susie B. Dudley Y. W. C. A. Monday night, Octber 6. Miss Frances Kornegay, health educator of the State Board of Health, explained the X-ray survey to the group. There will be four mobile X-ray units moving around over the city and county in an effoxt to X-ray every person over 15 years of, age in the city and county. The X-ray units are owned by the State Board of Health. They will supply the doctor, technicians and supervising clerks. The scheduling, promotion and education is our local community obligation, Miss Kornegay said. . The opening date is November 17, and will continue until every person has had'an opportunity to have a chest X-ray. Miss Velma Turnage, field wcfrker, North Carolina Tuberculosis Association, explained "The Minister's Role in the Control of Tuberculosis" at the meeting of the Minister's Alliance at Hayes-Taylor YMCA on Tusday, October 7, at 12- noon. Rev. M P. Sawyer is president of the Alliance. The group was asked to cooperate through its churches in carrying information about the mass X-ray survey to members, and urging them to have these X-rays of their entire families. The mobile X-rav unit will be near everyone at some time during the survey. Watch for newspaper announcement and listen to the radio for schedules. .
