Missionary Circle
To Sponsor Tea
The Winnie Lewis Missionary
Circle of Bethel A. M. E. Church
held their business meeting
Thursday, Feb. 22, in the home
of Mrs. Fred Avery, 1907 Am
hurst Road In Woodmere Park.
Plans were discussed for their
annual "St. Patrick's Tea" to be
held Sunday, March 17, from
1:00 - 5:00 p. m. in the Fellow
ship Hall of the church.
Following the business session
the hostess served a delicious
repast. Members in attendance

Johnelle Hutchinson, a young
Dudley High School student,
and a member of Bethel Church
who is aspiring for the ministry,
was the speaker during the
morning worship service, 11:00
a. m., at Bethel Church Sunday,
Feb. 25. He used as a subject,
"How Strong Is Your Faith?"

who contributed in any way to
the grand success of their
"George Washington Tea" held
Sunday, Feb. 18, in the Fellow
ship Hall of the church. It was
their most successful and most
beautiful tea. Mrs. Maggie Gant
and Mrs. Bertha Cummings re
ported the largest amounts of
money among Club members.
Mrs. James L. Slappy is Presi
dent of the Club.
Luncheon Meeting
Mr. J. L,. Slappy will host a
luncheon meeting Sunday, Mar.
S, at 2:00 p. m. in his home at
412 Boyd Street, honoring the
Pastor's Aid Club members of
Bethel Church. All members are
asked to be present.
Floral Clnb Meeting
The regular meeting of the
Floral Club of Bethel Church
was held Sunday, Feb. 25, at 5
p. m. in the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Charles O. Gill at 2017
Asheboro Street. The meeting
was opened with a prayer by
Mrs. Carrie Black. Mrs. Gill
presided.
The business of the day was
concerned with the "Winter
Tea" sponsored by the Club
January 28. This was their first
big event which was very suc
cessful. The result was encour
aging.
