Richardson Me mortal Hospital, Saturday Night, March 16th following a brief ill ness. He lived at 509 Law Street. Funeral service was held Thursday, March 21st, 4:00 P. M. Bethel A. M. E. GATE CITY ALUMNI CHAPTER NEARS $10,000 FUNDS GOAL The Gate City Chapter of the A&T State University Alumni Association this week announced subscriptions of more than $7,000 in the Chapter's current campaign to raise $10 000 for A&T's annual Giving Program. The optimistic progress re port was made Monday even ing at a Chapter banquet in the Memorial Union Ballroom at A&T. "We are confident that we are going to reach our goal," said Marvin B. Graeber and the Rev. Sampson Buie, co-chairmen of the local campaign. Keynote speaker at the ban quet was Dr. Lewis C. Dowdy, president of A&T. Dr. Dowdy told the graduates that the de veloping of leaders was now a high prioritv of the University. "We have got to change both our attitude towards giving and our nspiratlons." said Dr. Dow dy. "We have also got to provide an opoortunitv for our students to develop their minds." Dr. Dowdy also said that the University must provide a balance to offset the "student MR. She was given a position as a teacher in one o ? the public schools in Charlotte, North Carolina. Pat ricia was given a surprise party by some of her friends and class mates, at which time she receiv ed a variety of useful gifts. Patricia's college finances were provided by the North Carolina Mutual Insurance by an endowment shown to her parents at an early age.
