ANLREW McINTOSH, JR. Andrew Mcintosh, age 51, of 44'i Gorrell St., died Sunday, April 7th at L. Richardson Me morial Hospital. Funeral services were held 4:00 P.M. WHARTON Mrs. Zetta Malone Wharton, age 59 died Sunday morning, April 14th following a brief ill ness. She lived at 1506 Perkins Street. Funeral service was held Wernesday, April 17th, 2:00 p.m. Brown's Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Maplewood Cemetery. The body remained at the funeral home until the hour of service. Links, Inc. were hostess to the 16th Southern Area Meeting. Professional caliber perform ances by the Florida A&T Uni versity Verse Choir; Symphonic Band; Concert Choir; Orchesis Club; The Young Artists of F. A. M. U. and soloists Marie Had ley Robinson, gave emphasis to the Theme: "Focusing on Youth and the Fine Arts." The business sessions moved with dispatch under Director Maude K. Reid. National President, Vivian J. Beamon, emphasized the national program and conducted a ques tion and answer period. A Reception on Friday night assembled friends to meet the delegates. The Flamingo Lunch eon was the occasion for felicita tions from Organizations of the City, as Link Pearl Gore presid ed. Guest speaker for the Ban quet was Dr. George W. Gore, president of F.A.M.U. Link Athalie Range of Miami is Southern Area's Woman of the Year and was presented the plaque by Link Edythe T. Jones of Birmingham. Link Gussie Dobbs presented her an orchid from the Miami Chapter. Raleigh Chapter received the Chapter of the Year Award, which was pre sented by Link Rose Branch of the Jackson Chapter, with Link Chloe Laws accepting for her Chapter. Baton Rouge Chapter received the Forniss Award for the Most Cooperative Chapter, with Link Thelma Glass of Montgomery making the presen tation and Link Jewell Thomp son accepting for the Chapter. National President Vivian Bea mon, Area Director Maude K. Reid and Link Pearl Gore of the Tallahassee Chapter each re ceived awards from the Seven Up Company with Mrs. Inez Kaiser making the presentations. Link Josephine Hayes of the At lantic City, N. J. Chapter was a pleasant visitor from the Eastern Area. i Brunswick Chapter led in at tendance. Silent prayers were said for Link Callie Upperman of the Wilmington, N. C. Chap ter, who has been in a coma since the Area Meeting held last year in Wilmington, N. C. The home of Dr. and Mrs. L. H. B. Foote was the scene of the after hours Cabaret Party. Link Juanita Johnson presided at the Tropical Florida Breakfast on Sunday morning. Link Inez Eas ley of the Fayetteville Chapter, conducted the 'Sing Along,' with Link Jacqueline Hairston of the Charlotte Chapter and Link Josephine Kennedy of the Day tona Beach Chapter at the piano. Speaker at the luncheon will be Dr. Elmore M. Kennedy, Jr., i a consultant engineer at the Gen eral Electric Space Technology Center in Philadelphia. Dr. Ken nedy is a former professor of ; military science at A&T. The morning session will be addressed by Dr. George Grill, assistant professor of business and secretarial administration at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
