Jones, pastor of Bass Chapel and Ral eigh Cross Road United Metho dist Churches, officiating. Mr. Winchester, son of the late Walter and Alice Winches ter, was born July 9, 1893 in Guilford County, North Caro lina. He departed this life on December 1, 1969 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital. He was married to Alice Win chester, who preceded him in death a number of years ago. To this union four children were born. SAMUEL F. WINCHESTER Years later he was married to Miss Rosa Lee Hayes. Mr. Win chester was a member of Ral eigh Cross Roads United Meth odist Church, where he served faithfully as long as his health permitted. For many years he was em ployed by the Pomona Terra Cotta Company. Alter his re tirement, he devoted much ol ' his time to farming. He is survived by his wife, i Mrs. Rosa Hayes Winchester of the home; one son, Mr. Walter ! J. Winchester of Philadelphia, Pa.; one step-daughter, Mrs. Susie Hayes of the home; one step-son, Mr. Wallace Hayes of Greensboro, N. C.; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Alston and Mrs. Sallie Perdue, both of Greens boro, N. C.; four grandchildren, ! twelve great grandchildren and ' a host of other relatives and : friends. Richardson Memorial Hos pital will meet at the hospital on Sunday, December 7 at 4 p.m. Dr. Smith, Hospital Ad ministrator, will speak to the group at that time. The committee met in the hospital lounge on Sunday, Nov. 30 to plan the Christmas Dec orations and Entertainment for the hospital patients during the Christmas Season. The an niversary is in honor of the Rev. Peter Addo, pastor of Browning Chapel who has been with the congregation for a whole year. Goodloe, president j and chief executive officer of the North Carolina Mutual Life ! Insurance Company, announced the Board of Directors' eleva tion of three vice presidents to senior vice presidencies. They are: W. A. Clement, CLU, Agency Vice President; W. J. Kennedy, III, Financial Vice President and Maceo A. Sloan, CLU, Vice President-Home Of-, fice Operations. In making the announcement, Goodloe recalled that, "Four years ago the Board of Directors approved a long-range plan of organizational restructuring. In 1965, when we moved into our present building, the first stage of re-organization was effected. At that time our various work units were grouped into seven organizational components or departments. "With the progress effected during the interim we are now at the point wherein we can implement a second stage of or ganizational development. Three of our vice presidents are now being assigned additional re sponsibilities as a means of stimulating further growth and accelerating progress as we pre pare our organization for the decade of the seventies. "In their new roles as senior vice presidents they will more actively share in top-level ad ministrative responsibility in their assigned areas and, I be lieve, implement company grow-~ th and progress.
