Mrs. Myers, daughter of Re
becca White and the late Leroy
Alexander was born in Sum
merfield, N. C. died at the age
of 40 years.
Survivors include her hus
band, Mr. Thomas Myers of
Greensboro, N. C.; son, Mr.
Jerry Lee Myers of Greensboro,
N. C.; mother, Mrs. Rebecca
W. Alexander of the home; two
?sisters, Mesdames Minnie Boyd
Greensboro, N. C.; one brother,
Mr. Jonah Alexander of Greens
boro, N. C. and a host of other
relatives and friends.

Mary Katherine Hughes were

on Saturday, Dec. 6, 1969 at
1:00 P.M. with Rev. J. A. Gray,
pastor of Collins Grove United
Methodist Church, officiating.
Mrs. Hughes, daughter of the
late Sam &nd Mary Oliver Clark
who was born August 19, 1907
in Madison, N. C., died at the
age of 82.
At an early age she joined
the Collins Grove United Meth
odist Church where her mem
bership remained throughout
her life.
Survivors include: one daugh
ter, Mrs. Mary M alloy of Great
Neck, L. I., New York; one son,
Mr. Ralph Johnson of Harris
burg, Pa.; one granddaughter,
Mrs. Gloria J. Scales of Tren
ton. N. J. and three great grand
children and a host of other
relatives and friends.

Hospital To Meet
Sunday, December 1 4
The Entertainment Committee
of L. Richardson Memorial
Hospital will meet at the hos
pital on Sunday, Dec. 14 at 4:00
p.m. Dr. Smith, Hospital Ad
ministrator, will speak to the
group at that time.
The committee met in the
hospital lounge on Sunday, Nov.
30 and again on Dec. 7 to make
plans for the decorations and
entertainment for the patients
during the Christmas season.
Mr. Breeden of the YMCA was
elected chairman of the Pur
chasing Committee.
Mr. J. F. Johnson presided
over the meeting at which a
number of organizations and
churches were represented. Peo
ple were present from Shiloh
Baptist Church, Mount Zion
Baptist Church, Our Lady of
the Miraculous Medal Catholic
Church, Providence Baptist
Church, the Old North State
Elk's Club, the YMCA, Chand
lick Women's Club and the L.
Richardson staff.
The churches and organiza
tions plan to donate money for
the decorating and hope to have
enough to purchase small gifts
for the patients. A&T State Uni
versity has offered the use of
their decorations when the school
Closes for the holidays. Dudley
High School will decorate the
3rd floor and students have of
fered their services as carol
singers.
Mr. Johnson says everybody
plans to start working on the
project on December 15. He
wants to extend an invitation to
everyone ? your help will be
greatly appreciated. Here is your

6 at L. Richardson Hospital.

was buried in Maplewoou Cem
etery and Mrs. Corbett was buri
ed in Piedmont Memorial Park.
