Mrs. Roxie Stinson, age 79,
a former resident of Greensboro,
died Tuesday in a Baltimore
Hospital.
Funeral services were held
Saturday, December 6 at 1206

She is survived by one son,
William Stinson of Baltimore,
Md.; four sisters, Mrs. Maude
Waddell of Greensboro, Mrs.
Myrtle Brewer of Siler City,
N. C., Mrs. Annie Bethea of
Gaffney, S. C. and Mrs. Sallie

MR. R. W. OLIVER, JR.
Mr. Rudy Walter Oliver, Jr.,
age 39 former resident of
Greensboro, died Monday in a
veterans hospital in Chicago,
111., after a brief illness.
Funeral services were held
Thursday at 2:00 p.m. from Har
gett Memorial Chapel, with the
Rev. F. A. Hargett, officiating.
Interment followed in Maple
wood Cemetery.
The family met with their
friends Wednesday night

to 9:00 p.m.
Survivors are: widow, Mrs.
Mary Noble Oliver of Greens
boro; five daughters, Mrs. Phyl
lis. Bailey, Misses Deborah, Win

of 2304-B E. Washington St.,
died Saturday at Moses H. Cone
Memorial Hospital from gun
shot wounds.
Funeral services will be held
Friday at 2:00 pan. from Unity
AJ4JE. Church in Holly Hill,
S. C., with the Rev. T. J. Ham
mitt, officiating. Interment will
follow in the church cemetery.

tis Farrar were conducted at
New Goshen United Methodist
Church on Friday, December 5,
1969 at 2:30 p.m. with Rev.
L. S. Penn, pastor of Bethel
AME Zion Church, officiating.
Curtis Theodore Farrar, son
of the late Isaac and Nettie
Evans Farrar, was bom Sep
tember 21, 1905 in Chatham
County, N. C. and died Decem
ber 2, 1969.
In 1933 he was united in Holy
Matrimony to Miss Ophelia
Hooker of Chatham County, who
preceeded him in death by ten
months and three days.
When he moved to Greens
boro m 1943 he joined the Bethel
A.M.E. Church where he re
mained faithful to the end. Liv
ing in the Goshen Community
he showed stewardship and
worked diligently also for the
upbuilding of the New Goshen
United Methodist Church.
He is survived by one sis
ter, Mrs. Estella F. Scott of
Durham, N. C.; one brother, Mr.
Willie Farrar of Durham, N. C.;
one sister-in-law, Mrs. Mattie
H. Mitchell of the home, nieces,
nephews and a host of other
relatives and friends.

Mrs. Laura Bell Wright, 64,
of Route 1, Jackson Community,
Brown Summit, N. C. died Fri
day, Dec. 5 at her home after
a brief illness.
Funeral services were held
2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Jack
son United Methodist Church.
Rev. W. N. Johnson, officiated
and Rev. Sampson Ruie, form
er pastor, assisted. Interment
followed in the church ceme
tery.
She is survived by two daugh
ters, Mrs. Alma Humphrey of
Washington, D. C. and Miss Cora
Wright of the home; one son,
Coy Wright of Brown Summit;
two sisters, Mrs. Nora Jordon
of Brown Summit and Mrs. Mar
tha Cobb of High Point; one
brother, Dewey Wright of
Greensboro; other relatives and
friends.
